Selebi gets 15 years

wish I could be positive about this one but he will prob server a few months and then get out on something...
 
I'm glad the court seems to be doing its job... but I can't help but feel that the entire ANC government should be found guilty and sentenced to the same. They are all just as corrupt.

I'm in two minds over this one. It's highly doubtful that he'll serve 15 years. He's a prominent figure of the right hue and that obviously goes in his favour.

Then again, Selebi was part of the old Mbeki crew. Maybe the current lot don't care a whole lot for him; at least not enough to lift their heads from the trough and take notice. Ag, what am I saying? He's probably booking his next tee-off time with Shabby right this moment.
 
Ah yes, let's see what comes of this. If he doesn't get sick like Shaik did, then he'll get away with it like Yengeni did.

Yengeni entered Pollsmoor Prison near Cape Town on 24 August 2006, was immediately transferred to more modern Malmesbury prison, but was released on parole on 15 January 2007 — after completing a mere five months of the four-year sentence.

No matter what, they stick to each other like glue (he can probably spoil the fun for others?). He won't be in jail for more than 6-12 months.
 
No idea if he will appeal, but I would imagine that he will.

If he ever sees the inside of a prison (whichever one it is), the prisoners are gonna be simply overjoyed welcoming the former commisioner of police in their midst :D

He will. He applied for bail untill the appeal hearing can be finalised...
