I'm struggling to send a photo via MMS with my L920 and MTN.

I choose a picture -> share -> Messaging

Add the recipient details and click Send.

I just get an error message: Can't send message Try again

MTN technical support have provisioned my sim card for MMS and have given me the APN settings. They say I must go to Settings -> Network, which I don't have! I did, however, find an option to insert the MMS APN details under "Access Point", but you cannot edit or delete once set up!

How do I MMS a photo?

Ask MTN customer care for the message centre number and enter it in the appropriate place via settings.

My 2 cents. Just trying to help.

Which phone do you have?

For some silly reason my SII needs the 3G on to send pics, no matter the network. (have tried various SPs sims.)

Nokia Lumia 920. It's set to 3G, so I presume it's utilising 3G.

Funny you should say that. My SII won't log onto the wi-fi unless the mobile data's on? ... or is that the norm?

Mine auto switches between the 2. If near linked wifi the 3G symbol "vanishes" and returns when wifi out of range.

This makes recieving pic and business cards difficult as I must then turn off wifi and enable 3G. Normally 3G is off and those will not DL via wifi.

Which version of the software are you running on your SII?
Mine is on ICS, not updated in a while.

Lets try and resolve your problem step by step:-
  1. Do a Hard Reset with your MTN SIM in the Phone - Settings/About/Reset your Phone.
  2. Follow the setup instructions.
  3. After this Hard Reset was done you should see - Settings/Access Point where your APN (Access Point Name) has been setup automatically.
There should be no further settings and fiddling as your internet and MMS APN settings are now correctly setup. You should also be able to see Settings/Network+. In case this has not corrected the MMS problem, MTN should supply you with both.
It is to be remembered that this OS does not take kindly to change of network SIM as these are linked to your service provider internet.apn and MMS.apn settings, in other words changing network SIMS for the sake of fooling around, as with the other OS devices:)

Thanks Ivanr. I chatted again to MTN and they re-provisioned the SIM. I had to restart the phone and now it works!

A few weeks back I could still send an MMS, today my phone says "Not supported by network."

I checked the MTN site and it shows:
To set up MMS
Dial *123*12#
MMS settings will be sent to your phone
Download and save these settings
If you’re asked for a PIN, enter 1234
If your phone asks if you want to save these as default settings, press ’Yes’
Switch your phone off and on again to activate MMS

Followed these instructions and received sms "Welcome to MTN's MMS service!.....blah blah

Still doesn't work.

Anyone care to test theirs?

Why would you want to send an MMS in 2019?

Why not send a fax instead?

Maybe you can make them a mixtape. Do they have a Walkman?
