Based on the great 1980's mini-series, V is by far the biggest new series for 2009/2010.
4 Episodes have been released thus far, with the rest of the series continuing in the US on ABC in March 2010.

Scenario: Aliens, aka "Visitors" or "V's", land on earth, and hover their ships above all the major cities on earth, much like in District 9. But these Visitors have the appearance of humans and claim "to be of peace, always", and claim to have just arrived on Earth, but the fact is that these V's have been roaming Earth for decades, worming themselves into society and into all governments, agencies and industries. Some humans become major fans of the V's, and view them in the light of "saviours" and miracle makers as they cure illnesses and proclaim consistant peace, but beneath what appearance they portray to the world, lies a dark, sinister plot, which threatens the entire existance of mankind.

From the very start the show immerses you in a pool of suspence and anxiety with special effects that will leave you breathless. And trust me, the chicks in this show are HOT!

Series Review rating system: -10 is the worst mark a show can receive, +10 is the best mark a show can receive.

All I want to know is when it's coming to DSTV?

I was one of the few that got to watch the series in the 80's, and it was excellent then! I hope they keep with the same plot and it will be excellent. Got lots of twists in it. Can't remember how many episodes it was, cause series back then weren't about seasons, but episodes. but i'll give it an 8.5.

doesn't really bring anything new to the mix. The old series can still hold its own... and the aliens look exactly the same in this one.

I'd give it a 6 for keeping my attention for most of the 4 episodes. It's still too early to tell though, it's definitely alot faster than the original, but if they slow it down and ride out the series with a Lost-style "days of our lives" drama , and then trying to revive it for a sequel in the last 3-4 episodes, then it will drop right down to a big fat 0 as far as i'm concerned. This series is showing hints of it becoming a soapie like the latest Stargate:Universe , so remains to be seen what will happen.

Edit: By "soapie" i mean, a group of characters all getting so intertwined with interpersonal clashes, debates and arguments that everyone had an affair with everyone by the time something actually happens in the "bigger scheme of things". Lost series 2 onwards is a perfect example of this, nothing actually happens most of the series and then they throw in "teasers" in the middle and near the end just to wake you up to the fact that the original series had something bigger going on.

On a scale of −10 to +10? 0 - too early to tell.
