Hi guys

I had some serious lag last night from about 21:00 in the Florida/Roodepoort area. I was connected to 3G but the Signal strengh dropped very badly and never picked up again.....

Anyone else with the same problem ?

The last few nights I have had pretty poor signal and lots of lag in the Honeydew area. Very low signal and keeps hopping between 3G and HSDPA.

(i had the same problem last night)

Might be related to the international failures Telkom / SAIX have been experiencing for the last couple of days already.
Links to Hong Kong and New York.

Reps are also users.

No they are not they get something really nice out of there data that nobody else does

So they must just be happy with what they get otherwise we'll make it the same as everyone else

MTNDD:confused:

Hey Passop !

I was just asking if anyone else in the same area had the same problem...

Pls don't do it pls... I beg of you ... ;)

My problem started at 5am no connection from Kenilworth, Jhb to Jeppestown to Houghton. No connection till I got to Houghton then it was fine till I arrived in Oaklands, which was also fine till just before 12 when the connection has been on and off from there on.

Coverage Ref. 1051960

Just a note to Ernest and the rest of the team at 1555:
You guys rock! I am always a pleasure to call you guys when I have a problem as you know what you are doing and the meaning of the term Customer Service.

Now for the 5 minute wait for this message to go through and the other 5 minutes to get to the MTN forum main...

This means it's time for me to start working harder you now going via 1555 instead of me :(

Nah 1555 is a quick fix for smaller problems especially the damned slow gprs of today.

You know our relationship goes much deeper than that...lmao

Anyway I had enough problems connecting to my own site, which is smaller to load than this one, than trying to get in here. If I had a number for you, you would have gotten all my swearing sms's about the coverage.

FYI: It took me 15 minutes to get from my prev message to main to the data card post to main and back here... hope this explaines my quick calls to 1555 instead of posting in here.

So no need to be jellous...pmpl

What do they get?

They have their own APNs and dedicated IP adresses that gives them better speeds etc on the network. We all share APNs and have dynamic IPs so we share everything whilst they have their own little thing.

Oh the advantages of working for the networks.

Info from a source that requested to remain anonomous.

(Above is pure speculation but it makes sence why they dont have the problems we do)

There is a corporate MTN APN which also uses a dynamic IP range. MTN people don't use this for private purposes as it goes through all the monitoring software and is subject to company policy and scrutiny.

For own use they all go through the myMTN or internet APN.

There are no special setups.
