So we did our first TK run as a guild last night. Didn't go smooth at start, but we got the hang of it.

Then we got to Void Reaver. Wiped once as everyone wasn't familiar with him (me included :p) Second try went too slow and he went into enrage and started pummeling everyone (he was on 1% >.<). 2 Warlocks survived and landing the killing blow making it the first TK boss downed for the guild :D

Quick run to collect our loots then, right? Nope :p This is where the fun starts. Respawns! We didn't want to start fighting again and only 2 warlocks alive so no summon and no healer as SS'ed because the locks thought it wouldn't be needed...sigh.

Logged ticket to GM's though and they should give us our loots today hopefully...so he said anywho.

Oh well...a kill is a kill :D

Lol! Gz on the first kill :)

IMO solarian is much easier than Al'ar so maybe throw her a try next

Btw Lootreaver's been renerfed - Blizz thought he was too easy when addons could track his orbs so he was subsequently buffed but since then got renerfed.

Kewl, I'll be sure to mention that :) Thanks.

I respecced Arcane on my mage for Al'ar, but we never got to him. Does he resist fire? Do I really need to respec? If so I'll do Frost rather. I hate arcane >.<

Yep. As a Fire Mage you'll be doing 0 on A'lar. Frost or Arcane damage only.

I have arcane/fire gear. As Arcane spec my spell dmg is 1220 as fire it is 1125 (unbuffed on both), yet DPS wise, Fire does way more damage.

Fire is the ultimate raid spec.

Arcane comes to its own between t5/6 and becomes quite the power dps spec

Read up a bit on the theorycrafting over here -> http://www.wowwiki.com/Mage_Theorycraft

I don't have a mage personally but I know from discussions on DPS rotations and specchanges with my mage buds :)

Nice! Thanks for the link :)

Edit: Hmmm, Crit Mage...I like the sound of that :p Now I need to get another sucker mage to do the Scortch spam :p hehe

arcane/frost is better :) ... you will need a frost mage for +15% crit on the boss.

AB crazy using icy veins/bloodlust! no dps will come close to you during that phase!

Sometimes you and a few others make use of Raid utility specs rather than spec for individual performance and the sacrifice is well worth it.

Warrior with max improved demo shout, hunter with a pet that has shreeeeeek and a warlock popping Curse of Recklessness makes the whole raid basically gain 800 armor penetration bonus. Which is sick dps boost - its all about synergy. Your personal stats do take a hit but the boss is a puddle faster

I know i've gone arms on my war recently to get the Blood Frenzy and MS up. 4% extra dps for our raids where we have at least 5-7 melee ( excl hunters ) and the notable dps increase offsets my lowered dps by miles.

Same with some of those specs :)

Frost is getting some sick utility. Like 36% Mana regen to the whole raid every 2mins. Holy shiz.

I think we'll see it become more common among the 'off specs' that they'll compensate for their diminished dps or whatever, with raid buffing and utility abilities.

Survival too. Crits will return 2% mana and Rage/Energy/Runic Power which is pretty crazy on it's own but when coupled with Expose Weakness and several other Talents it looks the bizniz.
I'll probably spec it for 10man content on my Hunter on the side, I just hope I don't lose any Exotic Pets i tamed while he's BM.
Hopefully they'll remain in the Stable unusable.

Confirmed they get stabled but can't be used unless you spec back to BM

Well, the real deal is that it regenerates Rage and Energy too. Which is pretty darn rare.

Minmaxing and buffstacking is going to be a complete other ballgame in the 3.0patch/exp.
