With my limited technical knowledge I tried to replace my old D-Link DSL 2750u router with the free Telkom router, D-Link DSL-G2562DG. My old DSL-2750u was being used as a wi-fi access point and also as a switch for various devices (Printer, PC, Voip base-station) in that part of the house. I tried copying the settings of the 2750u but ended very frustrated. Whenever I changed the IP of the new router to 192.168..x.x from its default 10.0.x.x all communication with that router stopped. I thought it had to do with Disabling DHCP or setting the DNS to the main router IP. Whichever way I tried, after applying changes, I could not login, nothing, and ended up resetting multiple times. That night I emailed D-Link South Africa asking for help. I received a reply in the morning. I later tried the settings suggested and it worked straight away! So I am sharing the instructions.

The instructions were:
1. Method B: (Advanced method with one subnet. Eg. PC on primary router will see Printers on secondary router.)
Basic setup --> LAN --> IPv4 --> change the of the secondary router to the same range as the primary router.
Eg: Primary=192.168.0.1, Secondary= 192.168.0.200
Set the DHCP mode to Relay and put in the IP address of the Primary router = 192.168.0.1
Then apply.

Connect a LAN cable from the Primary routers LAN port to the secondary routers (DSL-G2562DG) LAN (not WAN) port.

Internet connection should go through. If not, turn both routers off and on again.
I double checked which port to connect the LAN cable, because the DSL-G2562DG has a WAN port, but was specifically instructed not to use the WAN but to use the LAN port on that router. I also used the IP address of the main router as the Primary DNS server, as that was not allowed to be left blank. After rebooting both routers, it was all working, finally. :)

I was impressed with D-Link's response time and clear instructions. It would be nice if the router had a "Use as Access Point" preset option, but I am glad I was able achieve that functionality, albeit with some help.

Thank you for sharing this! I had exactly the same situation and frustrations, worked immediately! Happy wife, happy life.
