Shamrock Pies

Kinda wish people would stop mentioning Nanaga so much. When were you last there? Years ago already the quality of their pies dropped through the floor. The last few lamb and mint pies I had there (previously my favourite pie in the world) were so lousy I wasn't motivated to finish them.
The trouble is there isn't anything else on that strip of the N2, and not everyone is motivated to go into PE or worse still East London in search of a pie. Maybe Shamrock pies could open a kiosk up the road. I see they do weekly deliveries to various places in the EC, but they don't say where the drop-off places are in these towns. I took another look at Dan C's evidence, and the pastry looks way better than that of the place that Bryn doesn't want mentioned.

I'm not advocating for not ever stopping by Nanaga. The restaurant there is decent and you can shop for plenty of stuff other than pies. And even then, the pies aren't bad. I'm just saying they're nowhere close to the holy grail they used to be.

It's almost irrelevant when they're recommended I suppose, because if you're stopping there you probably have no other choice and if you aren't in the area then no pie justifies the trip.

When I bought my sausage roll today, there was a couple that loaded their trolley with about 20 pies. Must be a big family :p

Stick to the ones with decent ratings on this thread, 3WA. So we can cross that place off the list of recommended suppliers. Not that it was ever on, at a quick scan.
Suggestion: when trying a pie from an unauthenticated source, have a bottle of No. 8 Mag Phos homeopathic-type tablets handy. Two or three under the tongue when you start feeling unwanted effects is great for settling an unsettled stomach. Disclaimer: don't take anything I say as medical advice, but I can vouch for these.
