1 Sharks 12 10 0 2 360 184 176 40 16 5 45
2 Vodacom Western Province 12 9 0 3 370 192 178 41 15 8 44
3 GWK Griquas 12 8 0 4 347 341 6 42 37 6 38
4 Vodacom Blue Bulls 12 7 0 5 353 248 105 39 21 8 36
5 Xerox Lions 12 6 0 6 347 248 99 39 22 8 32
6 Vodacom Free State Cheetahs 12 6 0 6 370 253 117 45 24 6 30

Sharks still in front with 2 weekends left.

Still four teams in with a shout for 3rd and 4th places in the log although I really think it's over and out for Cheetahs and Lions. I would love to see one of them knock the Bulls off their perch but I just don't see it happening.

  • Sharks have Lions (home) and Griquas (away).
  • WP have Boland (home) and Lions (away).
  • Bulls have Griquas (home) and Leopards (away).
  • Griquas have Bulls (away) and Sharks (home).
  • Cheetahs have Leopards (home) and Boland (away).

  • Sharks should finish on top but the Lions game should decide that.
  • WP should finish second but again the Lions game might hurt them.
  • Cheetahs should be too strong and pick up 10 points.
  • Bulls should pick up 10 points, as Griquas do not seem to play well away from home.
  • Griquas could still lose out to the Cheetahs if they lose badly to the Bulls and Sharks. They need need 3 points to secure an away semi, as their PD is way, way less than Cheetahs.

Still a lot of interest to see who the Sharks will be playing in their semi. Still going to be a great end to the season and the lots of nail biting for some of the teams.

I love this game! :D

Good game, but again with the subs the performance dropped, Plum said his going to feild his strongest team this weekend. Will be good to see all the Boks getting a run out and much needed game time for the big games to come. Im putting money on a Bulls semi at home :D

Honestly, the Sharks need to field a consistent team who can build toward the semi and final.

Consistency. Know your maatjie!

Why is Charl McLeod still favoured over Rory Kocket, I dont understand, old Plum must catch a wakeup, unless he knows something we dont.

Whoopee! Such an amazing team that even the bench looks like it could dish out a groot klap or two :D

I don't understand their fascination with McLeod? Kockott is by far the better choice.

McLeod's not a bad player, its just that his ball recycling and the time it takes him to get to the breakdowns is very slow.

With Rory, if he's not at the breakdown in time, its because he is stuck at the bottom of the maul.

Ruan is also quick, watch this weekend, some times when he is ready to get the ball moving, our backline has not even formed yet.

I reckon we should get a full 5 points this weekend, and then dont have to take our A game/players to Kimberly, then the big guns will be ready for the play-offs.

Rory looks for too many off the ball things, but thats just my view & Im sure it has nothing to do with the choice to leave him out at all. I say play Ruan for the full 80 he hardly gets tired.

Agreed, but sometimes a team needs someone like that, like George Gregan,

Rory is the Sharks ace card, if its a Sharks VS Bulls final, imagine Rory's attitude and Bakkies temper, Hernandez will be taking shots at goal all afternoon.

Sharks can't be passed by the Bulls or Griquas now so home semi it is..... just need to see what happens for the final.

1. Province 49
2. Sharks 49
2. Bulls 41
4. Griquas 39
5. Cheetahs 35
6. Lions 33
7. Leopards 6
8. Boland 5

Any predictions about who will be in the final? I'm thinking it'll be either Sharks vs Blue Bulls or Western Province vs Sharks, depending on how the log ends up.

Let's see... remaining games of consequence....

Sharks vs Griquas - obviously the heart says Sharks will win. 4 points for Sharks (hoping 5!)

Province vs Lions - hmm after today's game vs the Sharks who knows which Lions team pitches up. Lions at home though. So I'm hoping the Lions win this one but not convinced! 4 points for Lions

Leopards vs Blue Bulls - Unfortunately :))) this should be a Bulls win. I hope not but unlikely. 5 points for the Bulls

Cheetahs vs Boland - this should be a win for the Cheetahs with a bonus point. 5 points for the Cheetahs

So we then end with :

Sharks 53
Province 49
Bulls 46
Cheetahs 40

Sharks to then beat Cheetahs and Province to beat Bulls..... :) Final Sharks vs Province!

This is more hope of course. The other possibility with those first two games above being touch and go is :

Province 53
Sharks 49
Bulls 46
Griquas 43

...with the same final!! ;) But unfortunately in this scenario the Sharks will need to play the final away from home.
