That is because the results really do not matter. The Western Force got whipped in their first match. They beat the Sharks in their next match. These matches are there to try things and to shake off any rust.

To be fair, the Sharks really performed much worse than expected and the first choice players came on in the 2nd half and it made no difference. John Plumtree openly admitted it's the worst he has seen them play and that the Force completely exposed them. Even when Smit & company came on they still went backwards and the Beast was given a hard time by Matt Fat Dunning. The biggest problem is that they were outplayed at the breakdown.
Earlier the Stormers really gave it to the Force but they (Force) played without several 1st choice players and fielded a much stronger team against the Sharks.

So I agree that these are just warm-up matches and should be seen as such. It's experimental. It's just a good wake-up call for Plumtree and problem areas were identified ahead of the S14, so it's all good.

Looking forward to the S14!

Stormers vs Sharks game will be televised tonight @ 19h00

18h00 - 19h00 is the build-up and highlights. Most likely of last year's performance but maybe of the Western Force games too.

Sharks struggling but it is still early in the game.

Defense is not up to scratch. Lets hope they can pull it together.

Well this game shows us what was up the other night! These new laws are tough and will take some getting used to. Force had played a game when they met the Sharks. The more time playing these rules the better they'll get.

Some seriously big hits going in tonight. Especially between Jean Deysel and Schalk Burger.

Sharks clawing their way back. 11-9 (35min)

14-9 half-time for Stormers.

Francois Louw sin-binned for a ruck offense. Will be out for 8min in 2nd half

Things going pear shaped for Sharks now.

Jean Deysel yellow carded as Jannie du Plessis comes back on.

Deysel almost broke Gio Aplon in half with a high tackle.

Good old Craig doing his farcical reffing again ........ little PoS ducks into a high tackle and yellow card, bang. Along with missed in-front-of-the-kicker penalties just for the Stormers .... *yawn*

I'm afraid that if the laws result in this many yellow cards being issued in every match then this is going to be a longgggggg season.

Ah well that REF had his game, He really enjoyed it.

WTF is the issue that he plays TMO too? What a stupid idea.

Anyway many missed transgressions from the Stormers side because I think the eyes was squarely focussed full time on the sharks!

Good game to loose now I'd say as that will make the think tank abuzz with solutions.

Saw quite a few instances where the Sharks were trying to hurt the Stormers players. Ref caught on. Bad luck for the Sharks.

Quite funny how the ref's mic was turned up. Could hear all the bitching, swearing and whining from the Sharks players. And a comment or 2 from Smit.

Ahhh, shame were the poor little Stormers players upset cos the Sharks were tackling them hard? Shame poor things... hopefully buying all those big name players will help you guys out this year. You need it!

I have no idea where you draw that conclusion from my comment. I'm talking about a side involved in quite a bit of thuggery. You endorsing that? But you getting all childish shows that you don't have an answer. :D

Sharks had to buy some big guys from up North too. But hey, I do like the Sharks and wish them well.

Yeah, I know it is madness that guys clean out mauls so vigorously. What if one of those Stormers pretty boys messed their hair. You do know this is rugby? That pansy sport where the players roll around in pain as soon someone makes contact with them is called soccer.

Um, English 101 time.... big NAME players not the same as big guys. Think Jacques Fourie. Think Bryan Habana.

But hey, I do like the Sharks and wish them well.

Well good for you because I cannot stand the Stormers. They do look pretty though in their new "just snowed on" jerseys!
