Sharks Supporters Thread

^ Dont get your hopes up, it's the Sharks we are talking about, they dissapoint when least expected..

well maybe we will be lucky and the bulls beat the crusaders

That might backfire against the Sharks, seeing as the Bulls seem to be reaching their peak performance when it counts the most. We'll have to see what they do against the Blues today, but I believe they are formidable opposition to any team now. So I wouldn't hope to play against the Bulls again if I were you.

In my opinion it would be advantageous for the Sharks if the Bulls were to lose against the Crusaders should they reach the semi-finals.

I don't trust your opinion actually beanie. In the Lions thread you said:

It would be nice for South African rugby if the Lions beat the Sharks because that would show that we don't just have two strong teams in the country. It might also work out nicely for the Bulls if the Lions win because it could increase their chances of a home semi-final.
Here's my response:

I'm not a Lions nor Sharks supporter but what utter cr@p. Sorry, but do you actually believe in what you're saying? As a SOUTH AFRICAN we need the Sharks to win for a home semi and thus show we have at least "one strong team in the country"...to coin your phrase. That would be SUCH an improvement on years gone by if we at least have a HOME semi. Are you not even proud that we could have TWO teams in contention for a semi?

Also, have you seen where the Lions are on the log? They are in position 11!! And even if the pick up 10 points from their last 2 games, the BEST they will do is position 7, and that is not even taking into account the other teams ahead of them who play themselves. So, if the Lions beat the Sharks this week, and they beat the Cheetahs next week, and lets say they end up 8th, are you saying that is good for South African rugby if in the process the Sharks and Bulls both have to travel away for their semi finals because of the Lions? Do you think the Australians and New Zealanders will go.."wow, SA have a third strong team...they ended 8th...wow"

And btw, I'm supporting the Bulls in their quest :D

I replied in the other thread. If you still feel you differ from my opinion, by all means. :)

I'm also a Bulls supporter, but more a rugby supporter with a passion for the Bulls than anything else :D

And the Sharks traveling with some jet-lag and playing against the best team from New Zealand. I would than rather prefer an all SOUTH AFRICAN final, wouldn't that be great.

Celebrating the team that would win, but actualy an SA win over the aussies and kiwi's

Me too :D That's why I actually hope the Lions win :p

Never! :D :p

National pride support > Your team's support

Unless it happens to be the Stormers, in which case Whoever is playing against them support > The Stormers' support :D

Ofcourse we all need to look at the bigger picture, the Tri Nations and then the World Cup.

But for now, I'm still supporting the Sharks. The Bulls had semi final opportunity chances in 05 and 06, not much came from that.

And the Sharks didn't even have the opportunity, so nothing came from their season

All jokes aside, the Cheetahs are now playing the Western Force. I hope the Cheetahs win (and that's coming from a Bulls supporter) :)

They did, but the Stormers threw the game.

No they didn't! How many times do I have to repeat what I said?! In a professional game such as rugby you do not throw a game, just like a bank won't go bankrupt to give another bank a better chance of having the best interest rate!

You can console yourself all you want with that fantasy, but it's just not true, no matter how much you want it to be...
