If theres a problem in Kempton Park, why doesnt it say degraded,
It will save you money to call helpdesk

LG, I agree - they must be really bored, so perhaps I provided some brief entertainment to brighten up their lives. About the hescal8rz - I always park in the paid parking not the "private parking".

Yeah, that page is useless, the only time it actually tells you something usefull is when your area has a red light next to it, which is ofcourse too late seeing as how by then you can't connect to check your status.

My connection is simply flying tonight - must be because the Kempton Park BS is out. At last some premium bandwidth for people other than Slimothy. :D

yeah, download while you can beotch because by tomorrow night i'll be back in the game.

It's because it only shows RADIO signal. Not internet degradation or disconnects or whatever. So if the tower is struck by lightning and physically down/damaged/not operational to the extent that it can't give out a radio signal, you'll know about it.

Other than that, everything else is a gamble

ever wonder, if they find a dead person and can only identify him/her by their dental records.... how'd they know who his/her dentist was?

LOL, never thought of that....

Many law enforcement agencies either keep databases, or have access to the people who do. there are also footprint databases and stuff, dont you guys ever watch CSI?

AFAIK a bulletin is sent out to all dentists within the suspected area of origin and they are asked to check their records.

I really do not want to know why Noone thought this would be an appropriate question to pose in the context of SG :(.

Now that is the actual mystery question in this thread!

I dont think I've ever participated in a thread that didn't start out discussing 'A' and end up with 6 pages discussing everything but 'A'

CSI is make believe

Technically, the consistent derailing of threads topics, is what 'agent provocateurs' do. They constantly defuse and cloud the issues, so that nothing actually is focused on, and time is wasted.
Instead of the threads being useful and staying tightly focused on issues, there's a constant p*ssing contest of smartaleck comments, and trolls forever adding their two cents worth.
(It plays perfectly into the hands of the companies who are providing the often lousy service, that we're all here, ostensibly to communicate about. It stops us customers from staying focused on the issues.) So why's it keep happening?

I'd be quite happy if ic and other Big Bosses on Forum deliberately just removed the stupid off-topic comments and sidetracks from a lot of these threads, as soon as they appear - as its continually happening 'by accident' supposedly.
If people are that lonely or such trolls that they have to put offtopic comments or jokes in threads just about all the time, then maybe the Forum Boss(es) should start doing some deleting and cleaning until the forumites get housetrained..?

Shaun Green didnt make this thread to wade through inane comments and rubbish, he made it to communicate with forumites.

So how about deleting all the offtopic stuff in this thread - including this post - and leaving it clinically clean for the IBurst personnel member who took the time and effort to communicate with us?

Its not really clever, mature, or productive to throw in offtopic schoolkid stuff into a thread made by someone inside the company we're trying to get communication from, as well as clarity on.

How about starting some cleaning of threads?

This (first post in this thread) seemed to me like a lighthearted post, announcing his comeback. There's enough stickies in this forum for SG to "wade" through.

Consider that when you start threads like "The Punishing Iburst Game" etc. etc. Sorry, I forgot, *you* started the thread and it's all in aid of getting stable and decent service.

LoneGunman, you just make a derailing post yourself, and noone its a fictional show based on real events and situations

This is all my own opinion & not the views or opinions of MyADSL :)

IC is there a price for the best thread derailer ?
Yep it is a SASE (Self Addressed Stamped Envelope) in which you place your own prize & mail it to yourself at your own risk using the postal system which will result in your prize becoming someone else's prize :D.

Now, on the topic of staying on topic, have you noticed how there is very little off topic stuff in the MyADSL Vodacom 3G Forum? If you have not had a look then please go look there - I promise you there is a verrry small percentage of off topic stuff, and I am quite certain that there is a very big overlap between forumites that read the iBurst forum, and forumites that also read the Vodacom 3G forum. Now I know for a fact that I am not the reason for this phenomenon, instead it is due to v3g's participation & answering questions & providing Customer Service & Support that keeps threads & posts on track & focused.

If moderators had to go editing everyone's posts or deleting everything it would be an extremely boring & censored forum. IMO the answer is simply for WBS to appoint a permanent employee to address questions & concerns raised by forumites - i.e. actually address questions with concrete answers, or say I'm gonna find the info & post it here once confirmed to be 100% correct.

The other thing is that I don't think it is the job of moderators to decide what everyone wants to discuss - that is decided by the forumites that participate in the forum.

indeed, I like that idea of WBS getting people to answer our questions, I don't think it will happen, but i like it

Let's derail it some more ... If that was the case, I'd have to go to SAPS to get my gun back, and kill myself.

I admit, it becomes a problem going through 100's of posts, not really relating to the original topic, but the giggles inbetween does keep one sane while waiting for those 5 green lights to come on ...

This troll's 2cents worth!
