Shocking Eskom load-shedding data under Andre de Ruyter

If I was not so lazy I would go check how much diesel so other guys burned to keep the lights on. And also who was paid to supply that diesel.
 
Load shedding started with Mbeki when gov didn't listen to Eskom warnings, but yeah blame the white guy for problems caused by blacks, we're used to be escape goats by now.
 
I assume these numbers are directly because more maintenance is being done. Previously Eskom would reduce load shedding by not doing sufficient maintenance and kicking the can down the road.
 
The author of this article is ignorant and too lazy to have researched properly. A competent journalist would know that he's been taking units offline for maintenance.

If he has been taking units offline for maintenance, then its perfect. Do we then have any reports that show units under maintenance and the availability rates afterwards? Something concrete to show the work he is doing.

Yes. News24 constantly update on maintenance and the possibility of loads loadshedding because of that. Eskom themselves update their Twitter account to reflect the status.

He destroyed Nampak https://citizen.co.za/news/2206538/...r-destroy-nampak-or-save-it-from-going-under/ , and currently, under him, there is secret load-shedding of 5 hours up to 3 times a week in villages across the country. These happen at peak hours and they are not reported, all so that it can be claimed that loadshedding is lower than it really is.

In short, I blame him. What is he being paid for?

Secret load shedding? You mean load reduction which is announced through their twitter and facebook feeds every single day twice a day.

I don't want to go into their semantic games. Anyway, the point is that loadshedding is very bad under him, and he is on record promising the opposite. Clearly, he didn't know what he was talking about. At least.

Load shedding has been bad for a long time, he's actually been trying to do maintenance.

You need maintenance to fix the problems. With maintenance comes OBVIOUS loadshedding. This will be the case for years to come. This is NOT on De Ruyter.

Loadshedding and load reduction are 2 different things.

Load reduction is targeting municipalities and areas that don't pay Eskom for electricity supplied.

If electricity is not being paid for then no electricity should be supplied.

And this is the eskom saviour. Just another ANC appointment. The ANC can't organize a piss up in the middle of a shebeen at 2am surrounded by prostitutes. Useless, the whole lot of them.

A pity.

Load reduction does have controversial elements. Like how those that pay the municipality for their supply are still being cut and that's obviously not fair.

However the alternative is we just have to keep paying extra so politicians in corrupt municipalities can drive around in luxury German cars.
