Other arguments aside, we have PC's and a Console and PC games are definitely cheaper then console games, by a large margin. There are very few games that can't be played on an modern entry level graphics card. They both, however, have their place.

i can watch anything in 1080p, and play better games than spider solitaire - I bet I play more games in a month than you in a year.

nah, i don't finish them all - i don't need to. i just play them.

If i had to pay R600 for a game i'd play it to hell and back though, lol...

No, not that you're a geek, but the fact that you admitted that if you were to pay for a game you'd get more mileage out of it. A rushed conclusion is that you don't pay for your games then... ;)

Makes affording those expensive PC's and LCD TV's much easier when the games are never paid for eh .....

Well, PC games aren't far from the R600 mark these days...

Maybe it's a case of "putting on glasses" rather than "opening ears". ;)

well i don't know what Xbox games they cost anymore? If i see a thread claiming they up to a grand, people moan - so i said R600 to be safe.

even R500 is a lot IMHO... you guys are just used to paying that much.
 
I hunt for bargains or import - it's the most cost effective way. I've gone the preplayed and renting routes as well and I'm doing my first trade now. All those options work out well below R600...

In the end it really is up the the consumer as to how much he/she is willing to pay. If you prefer the hassle-free (but more expensive) comfort of popping into your nearest CNA to buy a game, then feel free to do so. Many other XBOX gamers hunt for good prices and end up with gaming bliss without breaking the bank.

meh - if it can't do crysis, diablo 3, warcraft 4, star craft 2 or the odd DotA/CS, it's useless.

I could argue that "if it can't do gears of war 2, skate, forza 2 or the odd PGR 3/4, it's useless." - but I don't, do I? Embrace all technologies and praise them for their application instead of continually getting into a pissing contest.
