Should I pay my E-Toll account?

I received an account in the mail this week for my E-toll fees for 05 December. It was a return trip to PTA from Jhb South.
The cost is R132.05 if I pay it before 16 Jan, or R220.08 if I dont pay by that date.

I dont have an E-tag.
 
Aw sanral are delivering. This is where it gets interesting. Any photos to prove it's your plates that went under those gantries?
 
I sit with the same scenario. Also received the bill in the mail (Not Registered). Should we just chuck it?
 
Pay up if you believe the government is the best in the world. Eg. no corruption, schools that work, very good hospitals, no potholes and no stealing of tax payers money. It's your choice Tiger.
 
It has 3 photos. I passed 13 gantries that day.
The invoice detail shows all the gantries with the times and cost per gantry.
 
Request 3 photos for each pass if you plan on paying

But they have no proof of you receiving it
 
Oh yes, the interesting part is that we still receive the 7-day discount grace period (a month later). I wonder if this will still be the case when we eventually receive it in registered mail, since we never received this one.

Was all yours correctly picked up? Apparently on the one day I never drove to work, however, I did drive home :P

They provide you with a date and time stamp for every gantry pass.
 
You can keep playing them, but you will end up paying a lot more than your original amount. This does not make sense.

Pay your bill.

Sanral is playing within their legal rights, opposed to what all people, DA, Outa and JPSA said. If you do not pay, you will be bothered by debt collectors at work and home and one day, out of the blue, the Sheriff will serve you with a court order to appear in court. The day this happens, you cannot pay anything anymore. You will need to go to court and face criminal charges. If you want to pay then, you will get additional fines by the court and a criminal record.
 
I don't get the logic of flipping the e-tag a finger, but then later pay a much higher amount, putting a lot more money into Sanral's pocket?
 
I think I should wait for a registered letter before deciding, however this was a business trip and I can claim it back from my employer if I provide proof of payment.

look at who specifically advocates this course of action - people with a vested interest in growing an enforcement and harassment industry. From SANRALs perspective money not garnered off on etags immediately throws them into trouble zone and most of the overlay is absolute proof of the inefficiency of the system. The extra money funds a massive FUD machine.
