I mean, Taiwan isn't even a member of the WHO, and just look at them.

Until the powers that be actually enforce the rules we already have, what's the point? The only thing going into a higher lockdown level would do is hurt yet more businesses. Besides, Easter weekend is all of 4 days long. It's not like Christmas holidays that span 3 weeks to a month. Just wear your stupid mask and stay out of touching range of other people.

Taiwan is certainly cooperating.

Brazil? Lot's of cooperating was going on there as well despite the president's concerns, along with clever scare tactics.

I stand corrected, It was always folklore up here in these parts that one would not find a croc on the West Coast of Africa that flows into the Atlantic...... Your post corrects that.

When I have more time I shall delve into why that story was told...

No crocs in the Kunene West and Orange West.....
 
yes, there should be restrictions on gatherings, movement of people. this will ensure that people will still be able to work and be safe.
 
Even if they do apply Level 2 the church gatherings will still happen and be uncontrolled. Closing the liquor stores will also be pointless as people will have stocked up and some will open anyway.
Absolutely pointless so just prepare for another wave.

I thought vaccination reduces the severity of any infection (therefore keeping Covid-19 patients out of hospital) as well as preventing death? I have not really been keeping up with the science / debates.

So I can say with some authority, it's not worth it - and if you do visit family, stick to covid protocols.

Yet we did the same and not one casualty with anyone we saw or us. We saw about 20 or so different people and not one sniffle. Even now, so perhaps those 3 got it elsewhere? Like a shop, or church or work.

They're planned to help of course, but it's very over-hyped. Anyone using it, fine for them, but this idea that the whole planet needs inoculating is....

Unfortunately all traceable back to one family member who unknowingly had Covid on Christmas day

I have to wonder how much family genes have to do with it, it's strange how it only usually affects isolated pockets of people.

It's not impossible, though I haven't tried to read up on it yet.
A disproportionate amount of the family got covid at the same time from the same day - I don't recall now how many family all interacted that day (I didn't go) but my guess would be that something like 50-75% of the family that met up that day got Covid, confirmed cases.

That is a really high amount, like higher then statistics.

yeah, definitely much higher than one would expect.

One household in particular all 5 in the house got Covid, 2 ended up in hospital and 1 never made it home. The other 3 were bed ridden for a couple of days but mostly ok.
