If that was a viable option we wouldn't need any laws.
Take traffic laws, for example. Speed limits, drinking limits etc.
There are no adults, there are only big children who will rationalise their own behaviour in any given situation.
We have too many laws and not enough enforcement. Why shouldn't we be educated instead of legislated? If you are old enough to vote why aren't you old enough to self isolate if that is important to you.
If we treat everyone as "big children" instead of responsible adults they will act as children.
Sure we do need some laws but is we understand the rationale then they will easier to police if needed. When you see a pedestrian knocked over surely this will make you more careful on the road, if not then you are on your own.

Should SA move to Level 2, or higher, over the Easter holidays?

If so what restrictions should they implement and which should they avoid?
Vaccinations more important than lockdown. Israel, Uk and Usa have declining infections and deaths due to mass vaccinations compared to some European countries with renewed lockdowns. Almost 500 million vaccinated in 135 countries while in SA, 100, 000 so far.

"100, 000" is what they say.

That number is probably smaller

According to bloomberg, it is 194000, but I also think it is much less. In my opinion only hope yi vaccinate enough for herd immunity is to get private sector involved, or I will have to wait 11 years for my turn.

We should implement those 24/7/365 if that's your reasoning
Not at all. If you noticed my previous comment its the worst weekend of the year in terms of people getting drunk and ending up in hospital. Generally the hospitals are full over this weekend and thats without any pandemic.

All drivers are fully aware that pedestrians get knocked over. Our country advertises "speed kills" on road signs, tv adverts, radio... and yet... lo and behold... adults, ADULTS, speed every day. On any given day driving to work, how many people do you see driving badly or over the speed limit? Each one has his own reason which they think justifies their driving. You can't possibly be making as assertion that each person needs to personally see someone get hit by a car, or be in a crash themselves, in order to drive responsibly.

And it's not just their health they are risking. They're putting your life at risk with their actions. Same thing with a virus.

Do we need to educate people that a business employee or government worker fraudulently stealing money means that other employees or poor people will suffer? Those people don't care. They put their own immediate wants and needs ahead of any other consideration and tell themselves it's ok to do so. That's what people do.

It would be fantastic if we could rely on everyone not to do the wrong thing, but we can't.

Exactly so if we implement these things 24/7/365 our hospitals would always be empty. I call that a win

Agreed but we don't have much control over the vaccinations right now.

So, leave it to natural forces, harsh as that seems peeps will quickly learn to be more personally careful - if they're full due to covid, sorry, go away.

And no, extra covid patients aren't going to suddenly appear at Easter. Maybe a few more after Easter...

You assume that you (or someone you love) wont be the person who is hit by a car or needs to be admitted for covid ?
There is a weird thing here where people think that justice will allow the right people to get the care they need while the wrong people somehow get excluded.

Nope, happy to put my money where my mouth is. This Karenism has to stop, it's ruining the world.

You dont get crocs in west flowing rivers ( to the Atlantic)in Africa, it's actually ironic you posted this as my partner informed me that he was talking to a chap that wanted to open a croc farm in our hood.....
What would the reason for that be? It's interesting...
