Fark that. We are a family of 4 who never saw family over Easter last year like we had for 13 years prior to this. Let the likes of us go...you're more than welcome to stay home.
My family learnt the hard way that it's better to stay home. A few went from house to house on Christmas day. 5 ended up in hospital and 3 never made it home.

So I can say with some authority, it's not worth it - and if you do visit family, stick to covid protocols.

We are a family of 4 that have not visited our gran like we do every year due to covid...

But sure, go fiddle with yourself on the roof while the world burns.

No, we are old enough to take care of ourselves. We don't need restrictions. Government should forcus on growing the economy.

No, please dont think for the Government. They do not like this 'Colonial' thought of yours

People saying yes have had their brains captured by the farce that is CORONA. Literally less deaths annually than the common cold, 5 years down the line are you still going to accept lockdown? WAKE UP PEOPLE. PS Masks DONT WORK. Locally they tested ALL the available masks - and NONE of them were found to prevent transmission of a virus.

No the reverse
Lockdown should end
Not ending it is killing the economy along with the people

This would not stop anyone from not keeping their distance
So take responsibility for your own health

Oh please. All the ANC care about is lining their pockets, avoiding jail, and making this country a socialist state. Japan and Korea is where we are headed if we don't wake up. Still baffles me people with bhrains and kids cat see that their kids wont have a future. Nope lets keep voting for ANC.

Is our wonderful ANC Government ever going to get off their arses and get the vaccine rolling....I don't think so. They cannot organise anything, why should this be different?

Quite a few of us have expressed compassion for your loss before, but really you're in a small minority and the world can't live in cottonwool.

Yep, first Easter in 10 years we never went down there. Kids were pretty upset. It became a thing for us. Hopefully not so this year.

Well, we do actually. We don't trawl through malls on a weekend, see our family from out of town FAR less than we used too. And when we are at their place, we stay there. Same rules apply...no trawling the mall etc. They are just as careful.

The Chinese are coming...watch! These were the millions of doses promised. J&J et al were a distraction and probably never bought.
Those "heart-felt cries for Western governments for their space stock" was a distraction to the news we got today that a far less superior vaccine is on its way.

For us it was Christmas time at Granny in Amanzimtoti.
Didn't go last year due to company financial woes (no raise or bonus) nor this year due to covid so yea, sucks but rather that than have my kids infect my gran or us and cause death in the name of holiday.

Absolutely, if we continue this way countless more lives will be lost during third wave. I also see people wearing masks, sanitising hands and maintaining social distancing. The number of infections and deaths daily due to covid is relatively lower at the moment but this will all change over easter period with large gatherings, social parties and celebrations on the cards for sure.

Indeed, but I'm also opposed to lockdowns - perhaps should have stated that.

People should decide for themselves and take responsibility for themselves, just pointing out that unfortunately you could end up regretting your decision.

No, let the racist ANC nation mess with the real possibility of COVID-19 infection and death! The rest of SA knows better than to gather in large groups during this pandemic.

I've left out the offending word this time, see?

Absolutely, but sadly there's even that kind of risk every year from modern flu and other things as well.

What I think we have to most guard against is runaway fear.
