Do you believe [at a minimum] third party insurance should be mandatory for all motor vehicle owners?

Should cyclists also be required to have insurance?

Yes to both. Other as well, but for PLIP or something. Perhaps you need to have an Insurance Policy in your name in order to get PRDP?

Scrap the RAC. If you are uninsurable, you can't get a PRDP, you can't drive poorly and kill passengers... done.

/opinion.
(also pipe dream)

Yes..

But like any other laws in this country, it would never be enforced, no matter how it's implemented..

Yes like it was back in the days.
it was? maybe I'm too young to remember.

problem is enforcement, you can have a Billion traffic laws, but who will enforce them?
Seat-belts, Hands-free usage, Moving Violations, taillights, Tires, plenty of laws, and taxis do whatever they like whenever they like.

so what use is it all?

Indeed it was , through was before i was born also, Quite a while back.

Get all the unroadworthy cars and unlicenced drivers off the road, then we can have mandatory 3rd party insurance.

If third party (liability) insurance become compulsary, standard insurance premiums on cars can easily drop by at least 30%. Fact
Tell me you're naive without telling me you're naive. Profit hungry corps will never drop the price more than a few %.

[x] Yes for the females and white male bakkie drivers.

If we're being honest we'd have to admit most South Africans are sht drivers regardless off demographic or sex. If I had a dash cam I would've shocked you with some morning shenanigans. We have lots of roadworks around town at the moment and this seems to bring out the worst in people.

I've accepted now that it takes me an hour 45 minutes to drive the 40 odd kilometers to drop off wife and kids. I've been late for work all week.

Perhaps, but some are just better at this than others

Your statement is probably only relevant if the TP compulsory insurance excludes injury/death. If it was to include injury/death then all premiums will increase drastically to the point of very few would be able to afford it.
