You need at least 100gb for streaming if you're not an obsessive watcher of TV.

Quite enjoying The Shield which I initially couldn't find on torrents.

So another perk for Showmax but they only have 2 or 3 seasons.
 
Questions: I'm interested to know how ppl are going from download to streaming only. What are your options? Netflix? Which Vpn? Are they not all being closed down? Are you using showmax? What about latest series? And latest movies?
 
For us, Showmax crashes on the TV the whole time and it used way more than the 'up to 300mb/hour' low setting. Local Netflix content for us sucks. Every smart DNS I've tried is blocked by the US Netflix and I can't get my CC to work for Hulu and I ain't doing the whole virtual CC thing or the itunes voucher rigmarole. So it would seem to me...for us anyway...its either torrents or DSTV

Borderless Internet or Getflix.
 
So...if tonight I config my router with the borderless smart DNS servers I'll be able to watch US Netflix? :)

ANy idea on how to subscribe to Hulu now with an SA CC card?

I had a similar problem when pausing and unpausing.

But that went away with the most recent update to the app.

So have you updated?
 
Borderless works now - but how often do you guys have to change?
 
so how is Showmax for those using it? honestly i might just switch because im not going to pay R175 a month for Netflix, or depending on what exchange rates Zuma decides to mess with
 
Showmax quality, for me, of streams is much more consistent and better than Netflix. Then you can also pay by vouchers and can get up to 40% off for 6 months with ebucks.
Buy a 1 month voucher and try it.

While I was still subscribing I was grandfathered into the £5.99 (R135) plan but I think that would have ended last month so I would have been paying £7.49 (R170) :o

I'll have to remember Canada if I ever resubscribe.
 
Showmax seems to be an amature setup or still in development phaze.
Been trying for a week now to get it working.
Bought a Hisense UHD 4K 50" Smart TV for the purpose of a bigger screen and showmax.
Showmax is not on the tv, only youtube and netflix.
The showmax app is nowhere to be found for the tv or app store and you cannot watch it through the onboard browser ("insufficient resources")
Showmax also does not work on IE or FF. IE does not even open the showmax website.
FF opens showmax website but yadayadayada about widevine or some crap. Click on the provided link and you get a 404 page not found
Trying to search for widevine is useless, there is not a single working download link available.
And no i dont have a DSTV Explorer / Telkom LIT / Chromecast etc

If your two reasons for buying it was a bigger screen and Showmax you didn't do your research.

Does the TV have Android?
