What side projects are you guys working on? Im always interested to see what other people are up to.

Im playing around with geo-spatial tech stacks in my spare time at the moment.

Making the cheapest esp8266 based IoT relay possible without burning down my house. I'm currently on R40 a pop without enclosure or packaging. Trying to get it ready packed and shipped for R50 a unit.

Open Source Live Chat with a focus on design and feel.

Open Source education portal - long term project.

Open Source client management system for independent wine sellers ( I know hahaha )

Then working on various user authentication methods the goal is to have a one click registration.

including solar power? or what would you add for power?

me - just trying to get back to re-learning web dev for some time after hours - diy'ing everything else is taking all my time.

Just started learning Python with a Raspberry Pi. Excited

I've had a side project for almost 2 years that I can't finish :( I go through months of no work, then try get as much as I can before time becomes an issue again...

She works at the office next door. Different company, same office block. Didn't like me at all. Deliberately didn't laugh at my jokes. Very much an ice queen.

I helped her with some IT stuff a month ago. We ended up spending some time together while installs were going on. She realised I am not as shallow as I come across as.

Will likely pick up this ticket by the end of the year.

Reason why I am wary. Never **** where you eat. Can end badly

Some of mine.

Griblinks
http://www.techtinker.co.za/griblinks/ - Allows you to remotely control relays hooked up to a RPI, Can be controlled either via web browser or a mobile ap which I developed, still in beta stages haven't touched this for a while,

Geologic
http://www.techtinker.co.za/geologic/ allows you to use your cellphone as tracking device in your car, you can also set up Geo Fences that will send you a notification when pre-set beacons has been reached.

Offline. , Dont have a name for it yet, but I'ts a VB.NET app that will allow you to monitor a folder for PDFs which will automatically distribute Invoices to the correct customer, all it needs it a text field containing the email address and group when generated with your Favorite Report designer.

All of which ah Fo Freeee! :-)

Oh its quite a lengthy thing to explain, its token based, It makes use of the user's session, username and encrypted password to generate a token that's again encrypted (Like having a user account with username and 2 passwords) if the php session is different on each page to the stored key in the database it will kill all cookies and log the user out, something like that. I don't mind sharing the code if you are interested.

I have a obsession with user authentication lately so the more examples to learn from the better _ I shall PM you kind sir.

An Azure Webjob to monitor Takealot daily deals basically a console app running as a CRON job.

Telkom Mobile app for monitoring data usage.

That azure project sounds interesting. Going to blog about it soon?
Going to turn it into a web app. You register, provide your email address then when a deal matches your criteria you'll receive an email.

Also looking into sending out a Whatsapp message but their 'API' is a bit tricky.

Cool beans. Hit me up if you need a beta tester.
