Hi Guys,

I bought a 8ta simcard today and rica it. When I got at home i inserted it and "simcard registation failed" message appeared on the screen. I took the simcard back to the shop and they exchanged it for a new sim and that sim i rica too. But still the same message appears.

My fone is not network locked because i can use it on Vodacom MTN Cellc and Virgin. And the fone is definately not stolen.

I am using the Nokia 3120c.

Any advice from anyone would be helpfull.

I got the same message in the shop, before they RICA'd it. They probably stuffed up your RICA. As I wanted airtime loaded too, they had to make sure it registered before they could load the airtime. They called someone who "expedited" my RICA.

It is not rica'ed that is why you are getting that error. The people doing the Rica obviouslly don't know what they are doing. I saw it happening with vodacom too. Simcards aren't getting rica'ed right. Just go to telkom store or any other store like pep with the origional packaging cause they need the barcode to rica it if you don't have a cellnumber [which you won't have]

&...manually select "MTN" as your network. The 8ta network isit available at the moment far as I know

Most phones are set to Automatic and would in that case it would have selected the MTN network. Mine went straight to MTN network when I switched my phone on for the 1st time.
