Singhs - Best curry in Cape Town

Singhs is definitely not better than Mariams.

Mariams is the only establishment that has survived many years in the CBD, most food places come and go.

Time will tell how good Singhs really is.

are you talking about taste or the experience

mariams has good food ..not the best tasting

but food that looks and tastes the same always

and also you get to eat gatsby with a fork n knife on a glass plate ...losers do that

I didn't say they have the best tasting, but their food is better than Singhs.

As I said time will tell, Mariams is an institution in the CBD, Singhs at this point is a novelty.

Ok, so you've had Singh's?

Mariam's is an institution for sure - but I think only cos they had a prime location, with not much eateries around.

Their curries never got me excited - but there FH Steak sandwhiches did.
The freakin' Half Moons YO!!!!!

I should pop in there again some time - last time I was in there, the lines were too long for me to wait for a salomie :o

My previous boss and I remain friends, and we go to various eateries in and around the city once a week and I suggested Singhs when they opened, even he prefers Mariams curries to Singhs.

Mariams is not in a prime location, not compared to Singhs, and I'm referring to the one on the foreshore.

If you are refering to the one in St George's mall then Mariams has lots of competition , Food Lovers, Wembley, Kaui etc are all within walking distance. This is besides the fact that the St. Georges one is hidden, you have to almost find it.

If Singhs is really good, they will last the distance like Mariams has.

I just love this place. Best curry I've ever eaten and that includes Durban.

Just had their vegetarian bunny chow for lunch and it best my local favourite Sunrise Curry Den hands down.

They are in Thibault Square.

Are you from Durban

That's why I say cannot compare. One is Cape Malay the other Debben style.

I did a Cape Malay cooking course and got taught how to make my own curry. This is why I appreciate the difference between these two places.

wrong, Mariams is Cape Indian.

The two places have similiar prices, so if I have a R50 and I want a spicey food, I will always choose Mariams over Singhs. I've been two singhs twice and was not convinced.
