Sinotec VS LG

From a normal viewing position, I see very little wrong with the picture at lower resolutions?

My display is 1280 x 768 if I remember and DVD picture is awesome. Granted, through an R8000.00 upscaling DVD player - but it still looks fantastic at non hi-resolution at 3 metres.

Yes but In:DSanity wants to use it for PC Gaming aswell, if i'm correct. then a k@kka res of 1024 aint gonna cut it on a screen of that size...

also, you not gonna have much real-estate in windows. i can't imagine working on a 42" with the top res of an old 14" CRT.
 
ah - caught the tail end of the thread ;)

Didn't know he wanted to use it for PC games. In that case I agree - 1280 x 768 is cr@p :)

well the 42" lg can't even manage 1280, only 1024.:eek:

i'm betting these 2 guys are gonna go out, buy their sinotec's, and report back to this thread on how nice the screen is, and be glad they didn't get the 32". but we'll just have to wait and see....stay tuned folks :D
 
I have an LG 42" which I *think* it a 1280 x 768 ...
 
A bit off topic, but our old CRT is a Sinotec and it is horrible. The inputs at the back have to be wrestled to allow plugs in and everything is pretty shoddy. Won't buy one of there again, regardless...
 
na, the inputs on the 42" LCD is awesome - you won't believe at how many inputs it has!! there is no wrestling when plugging in an HDMI...LOL
 
Obviously it's a completely different ball game between a 42" LCD and a 20" CRT, but crappy build quality is crappy build quality.
 
Update: I went to Game at Canal Walk an hour ago to have a look at the 42" Sinotech. They didn't seem to have any stock of the 42" on special for R8000. The was another 42" Sinotech for R10000 whos picture quality seemed inferior to the other models (could be just the store trying to sell the more expensive Samsung and LG models ;) and the design just looked kind of cheap. You know, like it is made out of cheap light plastic. I'll stick to my 32" Samsung and spend my money on an extreme gaming PC. Hehee

This is what I was trying to say to keeper - just because his Sinotec is great doesnt mean they all are :)

I went to compare at two different games and the one had a bravia that had a picture quality worse than their cheapest lcd. I wont lie the bravia when set up correctly does look better than the sinotec, but dont go according to games setup rather do what i did and connect the tv's up to a PC and then judge i thought the quality was awsome when i did that! and i did go comparing to all the tv's they had trust me i've been on this post for a couple of days now and im only buying the tv today:)

true that - in the Massive sinotec 47" thread, the one guy said he had a 42" sinotec, and loved it - they broke in and stole it, and he bought another one - the newer model. he said he liked the old one better :(

but i dunno, i didn't know they had a completely different new lookin one, and i think it looks better than mine.

can't say anything about it's performance though, hence the reason suggesting InSanity to print out the specs and take them with!

but i'm sure it won't have worse features - they seem to be doing a good job, and going in the right direction in terms of value for money...
