The SIP VOIP built into higher-end Nokia phones seems promising. Integration into the address book means seamless dialling and receiving of VOIP calls via wifi or 3G. I tried out a free (antisip) SIP number and I found that it works on 3G (not EDGE) and on my ADSL. But it doesn't work on a friend's ADSL (though Skype, for instance, does). Why is that? Is Telkom-ADSL blocking SIP??? Or is it just a router setting?

Sounds like a router setting or proxy issue.

I have successfully tested SIP using PortGo softphone (free version) on a Samsung i780 smartphone which runs on WIndows Mobile Pro 6.0

Remember with SIP softphones, only the licensed/Pro versions support the better codecs and thus provide better voice quality and more stable connections.
