skype doesn't work on T420

does anyone here know skype well? i've done a complete uninstall (even removed skype files from the registry) and downloaded and reinstalled the new version. all my hardware drivers are up to date but skype still can't find the graphics card on my T420. any advice would be appreciated. tks
 
I think you'll have to be a bit more specific. I never knew Skype looked for a graphics card, maybe you should tell us the exact error you are receiving or post a screen shot.
 
it sure is a superior killing machine :) and it has a dedicated graphics card. in reality i should never have bought such a machine but i got carried away in the moment - it happens. i'm posting from wek so will have to post a screen shot from home. basically skype installs but the test call comes up with an error message.
 
'Never should have bought such a machine' - LIES, everybody should own a T series. :D
I'd guess that you're having problems relating to the drivers if you downloaded via windows update instead of the lenovo support site.
It's a bitch to navigate but worth the effort knowing that you have the correct drivers.
This is just my best guess anyway - I've heard of people having similar driver problems.
 
yeah! you're right it's actually great computer, i'm just a bit frustrated with skype at the moment :) i've got the picture but how do i paste it in the forum?
 
yo guys! it's working now - tks FullMetal i downloaded from lenovo and it seems to have solved the skype issues. ta
