Skype users experience sign in problems

Internet phone service Skype says a "small percentage" of its users have been unable to sign in to its service but it is taking steps to resolve the problem.

"A small percentage" being about 95%...

Seriously, every Windows user I know had this problem...

5% Not Affected

The 5% not affected were most probably linux users and those that don't allow automatic updates.
Next time around there won't be linux users so the total affected will most probably be about 98%

Ive had no problems on my side, running Mac OS X 10.6.7 with the latest Skype.

Done the delete the XML file at 2 clients so far, and in both cases the problem was solved.

It's almost a wonder that the linux version still works. I suspect that we now have no chance at all to go beyond v2.2.0.25. :-(

Who's the 2% you think will have working systems next time - those without automatic updates?

Well well , this is the first sign that Microsoft has taken over Skype. Next sign BSOD perhaps?

Anyone else having problems today? Skype crashed all around our office and no one can log in.

yup - its down globally. spoke to guys in uk/us and denmark. all down

Ditto: 10 minutes ago in our offices.

Yeah, I noticed the windows users in our offices have gone down. My linux skype is still up.
