Seriously after playing that Skyrim and Oblivion seem so substandard.

Oblivion definately, the only thing that bothers me in Skyrim thus far is the UI.
substandard in what way? I find it difficult to play older games with dated graphics >_<

Edit: What are you guys checking your FPS with? FRAPS? I will test tonight and see what fps I can muster on my laptop. T9900, 320M GT and 2GB ram. Expecting 30fps on medium settings, 1360x768.

Immersion. Morrowind you really felt like you were in the game, and the environments are simply amazing. Download some graphics mods and you can get the graphics pretty good, even for today's standards.

I have never played any of the Oblivion games before, but all the hype about Skyrim has peaked my interest a wee bit.
Think the last proper RPG I have ever played was Diablo 2.

anybody seen some undead chickens lately ? i ran into a necro near riften the other day. so strange
made myself a nice home inside dragonsreach. moved aside all the junk in the room under the kitchen and put it in a cupboard.
btw if you need to fast travel to markath and you havent gone west yet, theres a dude in riften that you can challenge for some drinks inside the inn, somehow you end up with babalas in markath lmao

Targeting! There's no targeting mechanism at all. You swing your sword without even having to look at your enemy properly. Fallout 3 has the V.A.T.S system, Deus Ex does its thing brilliantly. Skyrim has nothing, I know, I know it was also the case in the previous games but gameplay has moved on.
Oh and about the feel part, the character dialogue, music etc are good but fallout was better. I don't really feel for or remember the characters so far as I said I've played very very little and my mind might change further into the story.
7.5/10 for now

Magic casting is awesome, melee you have to time properly... I find the combat system pretty awesome TBH and I was very critical of the "floaty" feeling I used to get from Oblivion

100% agreement here, Skyrim is just better than Fallout and Oblivion in every aspect!

Almost agree but it would have been great to have a V.A.T.S type system in Skyrim. Also the perks were a touch more interesting in Fallout than in Skyrim. It would be cool if they had more interesting names and some clever descriptions. I am nitpicking here though....
