Re: Lockpicking - Not really worth it putting any perks into that I think. On lower skill levels, you'll lose some lockpicks on the higher level locks (expert/master), but lockpicks are cheap and readily available. A possible exception is the special treasure perk, but you need 4? prereq's just to get it. I'm not sure how big an effect it has either.
I've been enjoying my sneaky archer so far, but last night I equipped one hand + shield just for the heck of it.... and WOAH finishing moves are awesome!! Shields also bring quite a different dynamic to fights, where you can interrupt an enemy's attack with a well timed shield bash
Heavy on the stamina though.
For those people who like experimenting, but don't want to restart their char from scratch, there's also console commands that you can use to remove / add specific perks. It doesn't affect perk points, but if you want to keep it 'legit' you just add the same amount of perks that you removed
