Slow International Again

Yeah, my initial "speed increase" was just a glitch - my p2p download is going at 6/7k down, 16k up (man, I hate that !)

Been like that the whole day.

Well... what's new... slow international speeds again and for an above avergae 1st world price!

The Telkom ADSL support guy says to phone your ISP's and complain to get SAIX to look into the fault.

[Edit]
Lol got put through to someone who can't help and tells me to phone 0800 375 375 again. :D

Has it improved for everybody with Telkomsa ISP?
Mine was still slow until last night, 2am. Im not at home, so cannot test.

Once again, during the day, speeds are terrible compared with normal.

WTF is going on here ?
Just doing a download of Virtualdub via a mirror I know to be fast, 7k a second ?

p2p download going at 1k a second ?

Something somewhere is broke.

ok now I am really getting pissed off!!!
Everytime i try and download something local or international it downloads at like 10KB/s for about a minute and then freezes!
What could this be?

I changed the router to PPPoE mode a few days ago, could this be it?

how on earth does one abuse there connection ?

munwaal said:
Maybe it's intentional.. It's slow because people are abusing their connections. "No more 10, 20, 30 gig caps.. everyone back to 3 gig."

I was playing with a new linux distro yesterday (Sunday), and needed to do a lot of downloading, but speeds were non existent.

Dude at 64KB/S its bloody hard to abuse, let alone use anything.

Pre launch was a different story .....................................

I am getting pathetic download (local) speeds today at 9kB/s

bullsh!t

I guess because everybody unleashed their downloads because it is the last day of the month ....

capping must really suck... :P

you guys are really making me think twice about upgrading from ISDN to ADSL...

yeah, sudden nosedive in speeds yesterday/today, picking up last night - then dropping this morning - I phoned axxess to ask what gives - (as its my first month on adsl) they say this is kinda normal, and that things should be back to normal from tomorrow..
