Am currently with afrihost and axxess. Both are CAPPED services.
During the last week or so I have noticed that pages are loading slower and slower. It's getting to the point where I have to wait some 15 seconds to load something like news24. Trying to reload pages takes forever.
However my router stats show Down Stream Connection Speed 9531 kbps UpStream Connection Speed 1023 kbps. Doesn't matter if I'm using ie firefox or chrome.
Have rebooted router checked the line connectors and have done the whole set up new internet connection to no avail.
I know that both Afrihost and axxess use Internet Solutions.
Is there a site that I can simply click on (no FTP) that will return the TRUE download rate?

I have also been experiencing the same in the last week... their website states that the network is fully operational... so dunno

I'm on Mweb and Ive been getting an average of 25kbps when i usually get 40(384k line). When i switched to my afrihost 1gig account my speeds were back to normal.

you could try username: [email protected] password: guest
you'll only be able to access their website but there should be enough to click thru for testing purposes. if loading speeds still suck, the problem is not ISP related
