Slow Speeds

Erm, there is no address bar in iTunes Grootmond!

Since it's quite a few hours since you DL that file I suggest that next time you DL something and it is slow give us the exact DL url, and by that I do not mean any of the iTune stuff as in order for us to compare we need to have the exact same DL URL.

Cape Town Gardens Centre down to a crawl 09:07 20/11/06

Good morning

Anyone connecting in Gardens or the CBD of Cape Town, experiencing similar issues this morning?

Please advise, the idiots at the helpdesk is telling me all is OK?

Maybe everything is ok with Iburst. Isn't this the time of the month when everyone is supposed to be capped iburst could be taking the whole capping thing to a whole new level. Once you're capped they give you Sh*t capped speeds.

I'm also far from been capped and yes it seems CT is in for yet another degraded week.
This is becomming the norm by the looks of it, BUT I now have my leaseline back and even though it's slow it is up to speed and consistant.;)

Apparently they are still busy upgrading the towers in Cape Town according to Ed Hall. They should put things like this up at the incident report.

In the meantime he should give the merc back and get on his bicycle until this all gets sorted out.

I also seem to have aquired a personal IP as nomatter what I do I can't change to another IP.

It seemed good when I got it and is in the "70" range, but after a few days it seemed to be slowing down so I tried to change it many times but it stayed the same.
Anyway the "slowdown" must be due to the problem we still have here in CT and the IP is probably as fast as any other.

Lol EHV. After that little episode I had a few days ago, I must say that I'm not 100% positive anymore, but still not as negative as a lot of people on these forums. ;)

Thats because you've not had to go through what Michael and others had to.......yet, all you've had so far is a small example.

You try running your business with those sort of problems and I can assure you that you'll be right up there with those who have been "so negative".

I'm not so sure these problems have anything to do with the upgrade, as far as I'm concerned Ed is stalling as they don't know how to fix the problem nevermind upgrade. <----- hows that for been negative.

The last two posts I made took ages to showup here, getting worse all the time.... "upgrade" bah!!!

Everyone connecting to Gardens got a perm 70IP

After all my bitching it seems they have decided to give everyone in the CBD a static IP in the 70's range, so as to prevent the issues of disconnecting, until they can sort out the IP of death issue.

So they aren’t all that bad at least they are trying, although you need to push and shove them before they get things right. They don't seem to understand the concept of being proactive.

The Cape Town connectivity issue is something else, since the so called "upgrade" it's more like a substantial downgrade - running a business with connectivity from iBurst is a disaster, I've given up on that.

Must say, initially it was brilliant.

Michael, I take you're still "pushing" as it's certainly not right yet, as for the IP yes I mentioned that I was stuck with a "70".

In contact with Ed a few minutes ago...

Yeah, don’t worry I still pushing, but hell it’s trying, each time you first have to get past the helpdesk before you can inform the supervisors about the issue and then wait an hour before they realise there is an issue and another hour before they attend to it. Then you gotta hope they have the right technical personnel at hand that can solve the issue.

It's someone else’s turn tomorrow…

And...
