Slow Telkom line speeds in Rustenburg

Hey guys, this is my first post and I am desperate to resplve this issue.

I activated my new telkom line 3 days ago, it's a 2meg line and I mainly want to use it for gaming and updating games. I watch about ten youtube videos a day, mostly gameplay and reviews (buffers constantly if I try to watch in 720p or higher). I did run a few speedtest.net test and have concluded that my line gives me 1-1.3mbs on average. But when I downloaded stuff, like a youtube video through youtube downloader I only manage to get 30-50kbs. Torrents give me 6-12kbs.

So my main question, why is regular downloads only getting 30kbs?

Could you post a tracert? Could you tell us what ISP you are dealing with and what package? Can you give us the line stats?

Hi, it's me again. I have done several tracerts via command promt and I will post it as soon as I get home. I live in Safari Gardens Ext 8 about 500 m from Stones, away from the mall. I have been trying for days to get through to a telkom consultant to do a port reset. I'm actually on the phone right now, still awaiting that glorious moment when someone picks up the phone.

I have a 2 meg line, speedtest.net is showing a speed ranging between 1.2-1.8 mbits a second. But I have just installed a ethernet cable in hopes of getting better and more stable speeds. I want to move over to Afrihost business uncapped which seems like a better offer than my current package. My main reason for concern is that TI doesn't allow downloads, like a software update for my phone, to go over 40kBs.

Well, it's about 1mbps to watch a YouTube video at 240p, we can't really comment until you give us router stats on the line and tracerts.
