Sluggish Afrihost speeds

Hi guys

Anyone else had a sluggish Afrihost connection for the last two days? I'm talking about web speeds. Page loading times. YouTube videos. Streaming. That kind of thing. I'm getting buffering where I never used to, and waiting much longer for pages to finish loading / refresh / etc.
 
Nope.

Net has been the same as always.

Maybe call telkom and ask them to rest your line. That might help

Those only kick in from next month. Surely not then.

EDIT: I take that back... you can upgrade already if you want, or sign up for a new package.

Same here getting roughly 40 kbps downloading my drivers from Nvidia, which is usually fast, unacceptable on 4Meg IMHO.
 
Been like that since last night; had buffering on a 7-minute YouTube video while normally it would just stream longer videos.
 
It seems like this is only a problem in CPT?
I have similar results :(

Really the first time in years that I have a complaint with them :)

Called Afrihost and they say that we're the first one to report this problem. So yeah, I don't know.
 
Afrihost just confirmed that there is an issue with Telkom infrastructure in Cape Town. Holding thumbs for a quick fix ...
 
I've also had slow speed. *goes off to email Afrihost*

Then why are things fine with my other ISPs?

Also noticed Issues last night.

We have been in talks with IS and Telkom regarding connectivity speeds in the Western Cape. There were problems at one exchange but it does not account for the issue being this widespread.

If you are still experiencing slow speeds please send a trace route along with relevant ClientZone details to [email protected]

There is definitely some major issue with international routing in Cape Town (I'm in Table View/Blouberg area).

Will send through some traceroutes to you now. My pings are fine, just download speed it buggered.
