Smart light switches

Ok the treatlife switches are in, neutrals and all.

One week later and 100% happy. They function exactly as expected and operating via smart life and google home

Will order the Martin Jerry switches. It seems they'll fit my funny switches.

Will try 4. If they work will need another 2 so will sit with 2 spares as only 4 switch packs available.

Always get a few spare. You never know

Yeah saw those. But thats a lot of $$$ and those screens will be bright when its lights out, but probably adjustable brightness or dark modes.

But lotsa $$$

Yep nice ito versatility but not much of a value proposition. But cool modern tech look.

Personally loving the sonoffs. Whole house has been set up and all the lamps in the house have been hooked up as well. Loving the automation. Some of the scenes used are as follows:

1. Movie lighting (voice command and one click button on home screen) - main lights in living room/library go off and lamps turn on if not already on.
2. Sunset outdoor (time of day: sunset) - outdoor lights turn on
3. Sunset indoor (time of day: 30 min before sunset) - all lamps turn on in the house, this is great for ambient lighting. The main lights are manually turned on as needed.
4. Sunrise indoor (time of day: 30 min before sunrise) - all lights in kitchen and scullery turn on.
5. Lights out (voice command and one click button on home screen) - all indoor lights switched off.

Leaving the lights on much longer than needed doesnt bother me much as they run on solar/battery bank.

Will play around more in the weeks to come but so far very happy with the tech upgrade for the house :)

Also added all sonoffs to a new gmail accounts basically [email protected] which can be given to the new owners when we sell one day - thanks for the suggestions guys!
2 or 3 weeks in and still loving the sonoffs.

Very happy with purchase and automation flexibility

I love having the ability of having actual lights on in the house triggered by sunrise and sunset. Add solar to the mix not caring if it's on till I go to bed. Love getting into bed and pushing one button and all lights barring outside lights switch off too.

Yep

Wife was out of town for a week and said she missed switching off lights while in bed.

I especially the outside lights and geyser control via scheduled timers.

And of course using phone or voice to switch lights on or off.

Was braaing last night and not having to go switch on lights physically, simply using app was pretty cool.

Now add some even better extras:
* Adaptive lightning for dimming lights and colour bulbs (based on sunset/sunrise, nice to see the lights nicely dimmed late at night)
* Automatically let lights switch of when you go to bed instead of using a single button. Ours automatically arm the alarm when both me and wife's phones go on charge and then all lights switch off except a few select lights

Interesting any recommendations on the first point?

Hi,

Are you using HA for automation?

How are you integrating alarm with automation

I have never used that one for a garage door, I generally use an SV, make it isolated but feed its power off the 12v of the motor, this one, even if you can isolate it, will have an issue in that you would need to give it a seperate power source.

the SV also has GPIO pins you can use a reed switch on to see if the door is closed or not.
Any update? How did it go?

What's new in eWeLink App V4.21

This version announced that temperature calibration is supported for Nspanels. With the optimization of the feature, we hope to deliver an accurate temperature reading for users. Besides, eWeLink embraces several new languages, such as Afrikaans and Latvian.

Ewelink has Afrikaans now

Pulled neutrals to all 9 of my funny switches.

I counted 10 of them. Although 2 switches in flatlet and one should just be blanked/switched off so no neutral.

So really 7 switches needed.

Now to see if Jerry Smart switches fit.

PS electricians assistants managed to disconnect neutrals to ALL switches in my bedroom. But he'll come fix it tomorrow morning.

Luckily rest of house unaffected and only light switches, not the power plugs in main bedroom!
