Smart TV boxes for under R1,000

My Xiaomi TV stick forced me to buy new hardware when it was complaining about low storage.
What do you have on it?

I only have the usual Netflix, Disney, Amazon etc on it.

Personally in my home office I don't need anything else. Tend to spend more time casting VLC to it from my desktop PC

“It is best to avoid non-certified devices — despite their low prices — as they can be difficult to configure and present a security risk.”
Like Apple TV 2 and 3s as of the end of this month :-P

Including all the addons he can find for Kodi, is how the Apple Acolyte rolls, is as cheap as chips he is, but must have Apple do he can "show" ...

You telling me he does not roll with the 128Gig. Model with ethernet, as we all know Wi-Fi is inconsistent and unreliable. OOOOF!!!

Never liked TV apps, so made this move 5 years ago and I am still happy with my Ematic and the specs seems to have stayed the same, which is a pity, but does not need more to be honest.

But those are from 2010 and 2012. You expect old hardware to get updates forever? Surely if they see less than 0,005% of people use it they not going to still spend time and money supporting it?
Your stupid Hisense tv that you promote everywhere does not support half the apps when the tv is new.

Exactly.

I think most Apple TVs are obsolete by the time the latest tvOS comes out as they can't handle the new software updates & the new features are stripped. Apple seldom updates older devices fully. I'm glad we agree on something for once, Boomer
