SMS Notifications on PAYG Data Bundle

I got the following notifications as my data bundle was running out today.
At the time I was not downloading a lot, just browsing.
I maintain a zero airtime balance, so when the system thought that my bundle had expired, surely I should have been booted off?
At the time of the last notification that I had 4000KB remaining, USSD reported I only had 0.25MB remaining.

I received a notification that my bundle would be expiring. Started downloading some needed updates etc.

Also received the 4MB left SMS. In the end I had around 1MB left after finishing the downloads, so I'm not sure what would have happened if I continued (also had a R0 balance).

Shortly after receiving the last notification that I had 4000KB remaining I stopped being able to receive data but remained connected and *111#,1,6 reported I had 0.26MB remaining.
I then disconnected. *111#,1,6 reported 0.25MB remaining and *111#,1,1 reported R0.00, any attempt connect resulted in a 619 error.
I then purchased R389 of airtime and purchased a 2GB bundle.
*111#,1,6 reported 2048.25MB remaining.

There were rumours of negative airtime balances after depleting a data bundle, if I ever see one I'll just bin my SIM.

You and me both. Their billing and updating of data balances is up the poll...I am just grateful that with prepaid you don't run up huge bills like credit accounts.
