Linky please?

Hi all
Need some advice to stop snoring. I see there are devices etc that helps, but do they really work?
What worked for you?
Thanks

Lets start with the most basic question : Are you married / involved (as in sleeping in the same bed !

Same boat.

The mouth guard thing works to an extent but eventually you stop biting down on it and your jaw drops and sags again. It is also hellishly uncomfortable. Jaw pain and sore teeth.

ENT is my next step.
Any improvement?

I tried SnoreWizard and it works great.
It is a mouth piece that you wear when you sleep. I was skeptical at first but took the plunge.
OneDay deals had it on special...R500 for 3. Takealot also stocks it.
First 2 weeks was hell though. Morning tooth aches and jaw pains. But they do mention that it will take about a month to get used to it.
Took me 3 weeks to get used to it and now it is very comfy. It is soft plastic and they recommend to trim the edges with a scissor, every so slightly, if it is uncomfortable.
It works by keeping the mouth open and gently keeping the lower jaw in a forward position, thereby opening airways more.

Has anybody been to a sleep study clinic in Gauteng?

My snoring has gotten so bad, it's gonna become a terminal affliction.

Not because I can't breathe, but because the SO is going to kill me in the night. She has expressed this sentiment multiple times.

Buy earplugs.

Either stick them in your nose or your wife's ears. The choice is yours. Or hers.

Busy with a similar issue, went to see an ENT and he recommended doing something like this:

I did my mould yesterday and should receive my mouthpiece this Wednesday. Only heard good things sofar of it, and the only minor complaint us that your jaw might feel stiff the next morning.

actually, a good exercise to do to see if this will work for you is to lay on your back, mouth closed. Take a few breaths and then push your jaw forward a bit with your mouth still closed and feel how much easier you are breathing.

So been tracking my sleep since I got my Samsung watch 5 on Thursday. I appears the device is collaborating what my Wife alleges.

Has anyone tried taping your mouth shut when you sleep?
I’ve been doing it for a few weeks now and it works great, all you need is a roll of 3M Micropore and one 3-4cm piece each night.

I was also looking for something. I generally don't need anything as i'm alone in my bed - but sometimes if you go away with friends on holiday or something you don't wanna be the one keeping the whole place awake with your noise.

Yep, 100%. Mates who I've bunked with for over 14 years now have said "but you never snored like this before". It becomes an issue.
