Snoring - how to stop

I considered trying earplugs, but then had a thought about not hearing a burglar and changed my mind. (though our immediate surrounds have had like 3 or 4 break-ins in the last 5-6 years).
I usually remove them at some point during the night for precisely that reason. Once I'm asleep, my brain 'filters' out the snoring 95 percent of the time and it doesn't wake me up - it's trying to fall asleep in the first place with someone sawing through logs next to you that kills me.

Oh, and earplugs were useless - as were the first gen Airpod Pro's - the noise cancelling wasn't good enough - these 2nd generation versions are brilliant

Ok, I have received my Mandible advancement device. Will do sleep and snore monitoring for a few days.
Early days,

Using my Samsung Watch 5 as reference,

Snoring is down to about 1/3 of what it used to be and the snoring that does happen sounds like hard breathing at most. Dentist said it may take about two weeks to see proper reduction to zero if not, then I can adjust the device to move my jaw forward another mm or 2.

First day I did have some discomfort with my jaw and teeth the next morning and it was in general uncomfortable during the night, second night less so and by the 3rd night I started to forget the device is in.

Other than the snoring, the first thing I noticed is that when I awaken feel completely rested out. Not tired at all, I feel less irritable in general. My energy levels during the day are way more than it used to be.

Will monitor is a bit more, but sofar I have no regrets.

A month into using the device. I would recommend anyone that snores to perhaps go and see an ENT and\or a dentist that will arrange such a device for you. I cannot believe how under slept I was. I feel 10 years younger.

@Grubscrew can you still recommend this? Or anyone else for something that works well?

I’m sharing a room sometimes with the guys at work and apparently I snore loudly

This is going to sound bizarre, but tape your mouth shut to force breathing through your nose. Reduces my snoring by 90% and stopped my teeth grinding completely. No more dry mouth in the morning either.

okay i don't know what dodgy bed games this is but no. I like my mouth free of duct tape thank you! :)

I was skeptical at first, but it's fairly widely used now and really works. Use micropore surgical tape and not duct tape!

Would still recommend, still using it every night. Snoring has been reduced to loud breathing at best.
