I'm a bidorbuy addict, I bought myself a Sony Ericsson W950i, apparently lady owened and zero scratches, the auction closed on Friday night, so I'll make payment on Moday and probably receive the phone on Wednesday.

So my question, Did I make a Fark up? Is it a good phone? And paying R1250.00 for the phone, is it a loss or a bargain?

My current phone is 6234.

News24 Phone timeline since 2002> Phillips Savvy>Phillips Fisio 820>Motorola T720s>Nokia 3310> Motorola 770>Samsung E250>Nokia N73>Chinese Junk>Nokia 6234

WOW! that's decent man,

Yeah that's a very good price provided the phone has been well looked after, has some sort of warranty and isn't stolen. Has the seller got good ratings/feedback?

Yeah!, the seller has good ratings, I just hope that she'll honour the final bid price and accept my payment. Last thing I want is to be cheated, considering that I'll be in South Africa in a few days time. This is sweet:D

How can't she honor the final bid price, unless there was a reserve she has to give it to you

She could do a disappearing act with News24's cash. It happens all the time on BoB. If she's got a credible reputation on BoB then chances are she'll honour the purchase. I would say anything over 15 transactions with a 100% rating and she can be trusted, unlightly to be a fly by night/chancer but if she's done 4 transactions with a 75% positive rating then I would be very wary...

You can't go wrong with Sony Ericsson. Got a W810i and my son has either the W910i or W950i (I get the hand me downs .... :< ) Good battery life, nice sound off the walkman, and once you get used to the navigation (If you come from Nokia) it is a breeze.

Well I don't want a bad rep for going on BoB. Where would be a less dodgy place to sell?

Well, I checked her BoB rating and its 66.67%, she has not sold anything on BoB before, she bought three items, two positive ratings and one negative.

Here is the negative comment:
No payment has been received. will amend when full payment is made. Have send 4 SMS's and several emails
This comment was never amended.

Now I'm a bit worried, I think a better option is to send a friend of mine to go and make a payment in person, and collect the phone on my behalf, perhaps they can meet in Menlyn Mall or something

Make it in person. She sounds dodgey

Yes that rating is shocking. What ever you do don't pay her via EFT. You must do a cash on delivery. Hell man that's very dodge sounding. That phone could be stolen, black listed or damaged. Whoever collects the phone on your behalf had better check it out thoroughly. What's the sellers nik?

And the problem now is you might end up with a negative rating from the seller if you try and renegotiate delivery and the circumstances you take delivery and make payment. A lot of sellers refuse point blank to do COD and for various and mostly valid reasons like they're afraid of being robbed at gun point etc etc..

Have you actually got the phone yet? Did she prove to be an innocent old lady that just doesn't like touch screen phones?

Huh huh? You got it yet? :)

The price is good for that phone. I had the W900i and was looking forward to moving up to the W950i.

I smaak my SE's stukkend! :D

Hope all works out well.
