So I went to Capitec

Ugh, so I tried for the second time after the launch of the use of bank issued contactless cards at gautrain, and I still cannot use my new capitec card to tap into the parking.

This country is like anti Black Friday.
This country can't even handle pay days without payments slowing down so you have to sometimes wait a minute for a transaction to go through.

It's voluntary. SARB now requires it but international payment providers can opt not to implement it but they carry the risk of charge backs.
PASA, not SARB
So will that mean that it's possible for an online retailer to bypass capitecs security measures?
Those are measures to protect them against you disputing the transaction (based on some of the grounds). This means that it is your risk your card gets abused (and somehow bypass the process (SIM swaps for some banks, phishing with a simultaneous real transaction)) instead of the merchant's risk.

It prevents you from logging chargebacks with these codes: (From someone marketing it to sellers)
  • 4837—No Cardholder Authorization
  • 4849—Questionable Merchant Activity
  • 4863—Cardholder Does Not Recognize—Potential Fraud

Lol you're thinking like all legacy banks. They cater for 95% of the population...

Capitec caters for 99% of th population. What's your point? I asked a simple question how much he was saving. I honestly don't know how much that might be.
