So I went to Capitec

I want to test these limits. Anyone have 251k to transfer to me? I’d willingly test it over 5-10 years.

Damn. One day I hope to be in this situation.

Nothing stopping you.

Just some disapline.

After my retrenchment in 2005, I had NO savings. Almost lost house and car.

Got back on my feet started my own engineering design business and by 2008 had paid off the house and car. Now I was debt free.

I then started saving.
Put away R1000 a month. Then once I had a month's salary saved up I double the deposit - and I just carried on and on - 11yrs worth of salary saved up.

So now I live debt free and very comfortably without the worry of where my next income coming from.
I can blow my entire month's salary without a sweat.

In fact I've just bought my own gyrocopter hence the question of transfer limits.

Going up to Tzaneen next week to collect my new toy.

Love your work. We definitely in the same WhatsApp group

No thanks. Not going to muck about being turned into a moron trying to figure out the 4th, 5th and 11th character of my password.

That and their capture codes have made me question my sanity before.

I do still use a Virgin Money credit card though.

Why would they call it an unsecured loan if it is for the purchase of a vehicle?

Because the vehicle is not used as collateral. When you don't pay the vehicle is not repossessed, they will use the same methods of recovery as normal unsecured lending, it's not hard...
I'm assuming that a person with a poor credit history/record would still not qualify for one of these large Capitec unsecured loans, so which target market would be willing to pay a higher interest rate to buy the same car?

Why would they choose not to use the vehicle as collateral for the loan, it's better than nothing and will allow recovering at least some part of the loan if it defaults?
