So..just placed the order

I plugged my VDSL directly into telephone jack and had identical readings as I had with ADSL2+ filter attached.

Using VMG1312 to plug into a DLINK 2750U filter.

Both phone and modem need to go through the filter.

Telkom connected mine the same way. But I only use the one that goes directly to my modem. Not interested in voice line though. Does your stats change when you unplug your phone?
 
How on earth did you place the order? I am connected to the same MSAN as you but they said that the maximum I can get is 4mbps so I can't put in an order for 40mbps. Charl (TelkomZA) said that their systems could take up to 2 weeks to show that I can now upgrade but how did you do it?

Just called 10210. told them that I'm 710m from the MSAN. They checked my number and placed the order.

Same happened to me. They must verify the line first.
For interest sake, do tracert to any public IP. If it only reaches the second hop then it needs verification.
 
Could it be filter related ? Remember I said there was no filter in the Billion box. Seems that the Pace modem comes with a filter. If so , maybe I should go find a telkom shop nearby ?

No need for filter if your line directly connected to router. Filter only there for your telephone voice.

Absolutely. Even with 7 its perfect.
