I got it here: http://www.wecangetit.co.za/index.html#!/Kindle-e-Readers/c/8561405/offset=0&sort=normal . Basically it is imported, but i got it in 2 days from them.

And as i've mentioned , i don't think the 3G version is worth it, it is useful if you really need to buy a book or browse the kindle store , or to do a dictionary lookup/sync . However you can't use the browser with the 3G connection though. The old kindles you could, but amazon locked it down, so browser needs wifi .

A while ago I had the Kindle Fire - I hated it as I wanted a pure e-reader so I sold it. Before I sold it I got rid of the adverts by going to Amazon help/chat and wailing about the fact that I couldn't get any of the free offers and why was this?
Some Amazon lady with a long Indian name (probably based in Delhi) immediately apologised and removed the adverts. :D

You can also turn the ads off directly on your amazon account (and going to your registered device) and paying a once-off cost.

It is so much cheaper to just complain and get them to do it for gratis. You don't even need to verbally speak to anyone just type away. This is a transcript of me and Amazon lady:

The thing is i CAN get the special offers, just checked, so it is certainly not usa only.. I am also part of kindle unlimited , so the special offers generally end up being free, so it is more an advert for what i can read next

I just found them irritating. So when I found a way I went for it. Of course you still get the advert below the list of books on your device, but the screensaver went back to the static pencils, or chess piece or whatever the pic was when you first switched on.

So this is a crazy res but it's on topic.

I'm looking to buy a kindle but I can't decide between the paperwhite and the voyage. The voyage is way more expensive so I want to know from you guys if it is worth it or if I should just go for the paperwhite?

The extra $80 doesn't really seem worth it.

I've mostly read about the build quality being better and the lighting being more uniform which is why I'm not sure if the price difference is justified.
 
I have the Paperwhite and I'm 100% happy with it. Voyage definitely looks overpriced in comparison.
 
Also have a paperwhite. It lives in my pocket, have had it for about 3 years now. Still perfect.

I've got a Kobo glo after I lost my kindle. Its very cheap and has a built in light. It works decently as well

What is the speed of the interface like? I found my Kobo glo to be slower especially if a lot of books were loaded. It was the first gen though, so not sure if it has improved in the meantime.

I also have the first gen. Its quite slow to load the books. once the books are open its fine
