The eyes are probably your best bet. Look for bleeding and dead pixels. Other than that, I can't imagine anything to serious that you'll need software for.

That's what I wanted to say, I know there're some softwares that display different pictures eg. red screen, black screen or combination of some color .etc to help to find out the dead/stuck pixel easily and inconsistency in colour/bleeding what ever.

I jus change the Windows background to the primary colours :p Windows Vista has some nice solid colours for checking these sort of things.

Okay the **** has officially hit the fan

I get a reply from Take2 saying the return has been rejected by the suppliers and they're charging me 10%( R321) plus R29 delivery fee.

A monitor that does this http://b.imagehost.org/view/0459/1_8.jpg is not malfunctioning :eek: never mind the pathetic so called 'tech support' and they think I'm going to cough up R350 and still have the crocked monitor. Fat chance.

I'll certainly be taking this further that's for sure :mad:

I am going to pickup my 2232GW tomorrow from PC international. Will take my laptop with and test the monitors. Maybe can't get a perfect monitor but at least minimum bleeding and dead/stuck pixels.

They apparently consider it a OBF if you return it within one week - else it goes for repairs, like mine. Just confirm it with them when you're there.

I returned mine within the 7 days. The bottom line here is there is bad back light bleeding that at one stage got extremely and unacceptable severe before returning to how it was before. Now regardless of how bad the bleeding is when they got it back and tested it the fact remains that on one occasion for a day I had this http://b.imagehost.org/view/0459/1_8.jpg . It's undeniable and it could happen again because clearly somthing is wrong for it to have done that in the first place. So they either give me a refund or they replace the monitor. I won't accept anything less. I didn't pay for a monitor that does that even if it is periodically

No. I'll ask if they informed the supplier of that pic I sent them. I'll demand to know who the supplier is and contact them. Regardless of the one occasion of severe back light bleeding the constant bleeding is still worse than the Fujitsu Siemans LCD I used and it cost R700 less. So even without that one severe incident I'd still demand a replacement or a refund.

I feel the same about mine... its annoying... most games are quite dark around the sides, and I want it BLACK... not glowing blue.

Your Asus looks exactly like mine... even the shot with the XP screen saver :eek:

Damn - I'll be so pissed if they come back to me on the 5th of May and say something like there's nothing wrong.... this after over a month... I will kick down doors.

@xrapidx

We might have to resort to cleansing some evil......

:D

I sent them a reply basically stating that as far as I'm concerned the monitor is faulty. I asked if Take2 tested the monitor themselves or informed the suppliers of my proof. Told them it's an issue between them and their supplier because I'm either getting my money back or the monitor replaced.
