So, my life is changing a bit...

@OP best wishes with the blessing of new life in your family! Now, where to find the "HOWTO raise kids" thread...

Congrats and best of luck with your son - you're going to need it for at the least the period until he's interested in girls!

Well, erm... not a part of the forum I visit often... But I do need to share something with the rest of the inmates in the asylum.

If all goes well, our son will take his first breath tomorrow. I'm nervous as all hell, but excited beyond words. I am also grateful to MyBB for providing a platform upon which I could interact with a vast array of ideas - and the people who hold them - over a good, long time. Even if I know the majority of regulars only by anonymous screen names, many of you have left indelible marks on my being. A collective 'thank you' for contributing to my being able to look to the future with hope, joy and cautious optimism.

I will teach my son things you might not agree with, and I might approach some riddles of parenthood in ways that would horrify you, but I'll not do so rashly or without forethought. Most importantly, for as long as this heart keeps beating, I will be the safety net of support and comfort my family deserves.

As you were.

*sniff*

Congratulations!

Tomorrow is an excellent day to be born - I should know. :D

Congrats.

A new poepsak have its challenges, not one is the same. The cutest time is when they start to walk and learn to talk... then you got your hands full - but then they're at that stage where you just love them to bits.

Congratulations to you and your wife Haptic and welcome to the little one. Better get a good night's sleep, it's the last one you'll have for a while :-)

Enjoy your son.

Sincere congratulations. I can recommend a cracking good priest for the baptism. Gives a stunning sermon.

Hey guys. Wow, what a whirlwind day! All went well, but the tyke is in ICU with some residual fluid on his lungs. Mom is sore, but fine, and the little one should be out in a day or 2.

I'm going to go sit down a bit now...

Congrats, Haptic!

Hope the family is all home soon...:)

Glad everything went ok...yes you sound lekker moeg. Congrats, you're a dad.

My grandfather use to say...to become a father is one thing, to stay a father...that's the difference. With all the compliments given by people who know you I get the feelin your offspring got a good deal. Enjoy :)

My tip, don't let her move her stuff to the guest room by herself, she's not allowed to move heavy things for a while :D
No, just kidding, congrats on the new born. Our last born was born last month on election day. My first born was born 9 years on back (on 9/11) and she turned my life around....for the good.

All the best to the wife and baby.
