I switched to a new job as a independent contractor and basically doubled my annual salary.

In fact, since I changed medical aid options, I got a decrease.
And the taxman says I get another decrease this month.

We haven't gotten ours announced yet. My bonus was a very sweet pro rated 13th cheque (seeing that I'd only been with the company for 7 months). Hoping increases come through this month.
