So you think you fat

4 kilos over :D All muscle :p thanks to McD's

BMI is a load of crap for any man that does weight related exercise. According to my BMI I am almost in the severe obese category:rolleyes:
So take it with a pinch of salt. I think its slightly more accurate for women but for men who excercise...blah!

Most overly muscular guys are overweight! They are muscle bound and do not have the flexibility etc that a healthy person should have.

<this piece of info has been hidden by the moderators>, don't know my weight atm though, actually too scared to climb on the scale lol

Edit: well i climbed on the scale and tried to change my first post, but now its been hidden as you can see lol :)

yeah someone who is really tall have a big disadvantage when it comes to BMI..

Wow...thats amazing...so BMI also then takes into account your flexibility, fitness etc etc:eek: Come now Lance:p
And who said overly muscular...? Any muscle beyond what you are born with seems to add to you falling into the overweight category with BMI calculations. You are thinking Jay Cutler muscular...Im talking Frankie Fredericks muscular:)

Actually I have been going strong:D Last week stuffed me up though with exams...this week is no better either but I will make a point to go! Ive been hitting the treadmill hard(but it's been hitting back even harder! LOL:D). So need to keep the progress going.

Most... you appear to have conveniently neglected to read the word most.

Quite interesting that you mention Frankie Fredericks :

Full name: Frank "Frankie" Fredericks Gender: Male Height: 5'11" (180 cm) Weight: 161 lbs (73 kg)

So he has a BMI of 22.5. Spot on.... and should apparently ideally weigh 74!

You missed my point(as you usually seem to do in disagreements:))as I was merely stating that my idea of muscular isn't this variety whereas it seems to be yours: ;) Oh and Jay can actually do a full split! lol!

that is kinda gross eh...

It may be but I admire the guys for the amount of dedication it takes to actually look that way. It never ends for them from the time they wake up until they go to bed at night. Jay(the guy in the pic) himself stated that he would never want to look that way when he retires as it is just too uncomfortable for him when sleeping and doing everyday things, but at the moment thats what he needs to look like to compete so until he stops thats the way it will be for him:)

I really find it fascinating that I respond to exactly what someone says and then I get told I am missing the point! ha ha

Anyway bottom line is you can apparently be well within your definition of muscular and still be well within the accepted norm for BMI. No further need to argue.

Out of interest, I think most of us will accept that Asafa Powell is rather muscularly built :

asafa.JPG

Yet these are his stats :

Full name: Asafa Kehine Powell
Gender: Male
Height: 6'3" (190 cm)
Weight: 194 lbs (88 kg)

This gives him a BMI of 24.4. Still within the acceptable range. I really think you can be muscular and still have a BMI that is acceptable. If it is not then perhaps you are carrying more weight than you think....
