Is there software available which displays 3g HSDPA signal strength so that I may point my antenna errr ... I mean the Yagi antenna on my roof in the most bestest direction?

If you are using the Huawei E220, the 25th of July release of Huawei Software displays signal strength.I'm not familiar with the Huawei E620 software, but you could try Ginggs Tool which works with both the E220 and E620 and does display signal strength.

Knowing the AT command set should be minimum knowledge before working with any kind of modem, including 3G/HSDPA ones.
Why not the Aug-3 version? Does it not show signal strength?
Basically HMP[artner] is a much nicer dashboard, whereas HMC[onnect] is somewhat less feature-rich compared to HMP, I have no comment about VMC-Lite bcos I have never ever used it or seen it {in}action.The August 3rd version is the same Software as the Old Huawei Mobile Connect Software. It shows signal strength yes, but as bars. The New Mobile Partner Software not only shows the bars, but the signal strength in percentage.
I have noticed that my E220 seems to always have ±97% signal strength, and having used ginggs' application for several weeks, I suspect that HMP's signal strength percentage is incorrect.I don't know about the E220, but the signal strength on the E620 version of Mobile Connect shows 100% signal when your signal is at +-85db, which is a bit enthusiastic![]()
Maybe [searchforum]"Cell Breathing"[/searchforum]?On the first day I used HMP my signal strength was 90 - 100%. On another day it was around 20% and yesterday it was about 75%. I always have my E220 in the same place and don't understand these huge differences in signal strength![]()
