Solution to keep gaming during loadshedding

More than your budget, but I got one of these for about 20k at the start of this year. Lasts about 4 hours minimum when gaming hard, about 8 hours for general PC usage.

Might be a good idea to get one of these to make sure. My PC peaks at about 300W during hardcore gaming sessions on a Ryzen 3600, 16 GB ram, RX5700, 27" 144hz monitor.

Kill A Watt meter a bit cheaper at Geewiz.

Yeah for 15k you're not gonna get anything that can handle 850w for more than 2 hours.

Edit: bearing in mind that your PC has a RTX 3080 in it which is hilariously power hungry.
Maybe look at a low-power gaming device like a laptop or just a more efficient PC to run on a cheaper inverter.

Discharging deep-cycle batteries with gaming is not going to help their lifespan.
You'd probably want to look at something like a 48v lithium battery system on a decent inverter. (Just the battery would be out of budget here lmao)

I've just put the above 2400Wh lithium system in at home and it 'just' gets me to the end of load shedding with some spare capacity if I limit GPU power draw. I've seen the 3080 spike pull 400w, but seems to average at around ~300w just for the GPU.

Or look at undervolting it, capping framerate and lowering the boost clocks to bring power down, you don't have to run your graphics card at max load.

It probably doesn't.

Get one of these before you spend money unnecessary:

yeah no it definitely doesn't, I was way overestimating i believe
cuz i looked into it more, my screen says it draws 35w, GPU peaks at like 300w according to nicehash (if I just run it at normal) but yeah how accurate that is idk
So idk PC and screen together is probably like 400-420w I guess.

Which might be a good thing I guess? Cause i've read now you shouldn't drain these Inverter combos completely?

Either way, I already bought it so eh.

We will see, im getting it tomorrow.

So when i put my mining profile on it says it draws 210w. I can game with my mining profile too.

oof, that is bad.
I guess its not really an easy problem to solve loadshedding.
Even a 10k inverter combo wont do it.

Im sure the average person cant afford a 10k inverter setup.
Maybe I should get a PS5. The game is cross platform so hmmm

Get a Series X with game pass and you'll have both pc and Xbox games.

Return the inverter. Take the money you would spend on a PS5 and get the EcoFlow Delta.

Assuming you got a wattage meter to confirm this?

So I connected everything.
It was a mission.

I know jackshit about connecting batteries n stuff.

managed. did spark once, got a grook skrik.

Stage 4 loadsheeding
no time to skrik
be brave
big dick energy

it says 226/226
no idea what any of that means
set battery recharge to 20a

it only has an on and off button

what could go wrong?

lets go raid nerds

226 volts in 226 volts out, spark can happen. Is it a 720w or 1440??

Yeah my batts also spark when I connect them the first time. I've tried different configurations, negative first, positive first, it always sparks. I found best is just to do it quickly and correct the first time

If it has 10a option and you have enough time in between to charge, rather use 10a to keep batteries healthy.

Man I almost gave up right there lol I've never played with batteries before
