So I got my hands on one of these...
Apple TV 1st Generation
It's quite a big device, and has a spinner inside but Im not too fussed really. Probably wont even use the storage.
I was quite impressed with the UI of the Apple TV 2nd gen, which I was playing with the other night. It was a cracked one, and had XBMC installed, it was great. Also had the Netflix app, so I just popped in my Unotelly details, updated IP and off we went!
Fired up the 1st gen one and the first thing I noticed was that it doesnt have Netflix (the app), and of course it doesnt have XBMC.
I did a factory reset first of all, which wiped the whole thing. It did an update after boot, so its on the latest software version now.
One option is to go the Openelec route and install XBMC on top of that, but I like the Apple interface with the option of Netflix (the wife uses that) and also the option of opening XBMC.
I did some googling and there are LOADS of different guides, would someone be able to point me in the right direction please?
